Status: offline 		I'd say that you've gone off the deep end but you passed that point a long time ago... now you're burrowing into the bottom of the pool.

Can't a man put his feet up without people making an issue of it? And I don't want to hear any shit about it being the Oval Office... for as long as he is President, it is his office. Man, if I were ever elected President, the first thing I'd do upon arrivng at the Oval Office is put my feet up, lean back and say: "I'm the President, how fucking cool is that?"

Where is it written that you have to be a king to have leave to put your feet up on the desk? Of all the things one might possibly take issue with President Obama on, this one is so low on the list that snakes have to look down to see it.

Regardless of who owns the white house, right now it is his legal residence... sort of like a renter in an apartment, some one else may own it but the person living there has certain rights and it is regarded as their home. Granted the
White House has certain historical significance but the man isn't tearing out the walls and turning it into a disco club. He's just putting his feet up.

I don't know if it is racist. I think it is more about "my team." Once people set themselves as opposed to one side or the other they tend to put on ideological blinders that makes them see anything the other side does as a negative. President Obama puts his feet up and he is seen as disrespectful. Let a Republican Congressman cut a fart and FargleBargle will be on here accusing him of contributing to global warming.

I think the trend shows it to be racist.

The right wing blogs and media have made a big deal about
Pictures of Obama in shirt sleeves in the Oval Office.
Pictures of Obama with his feet on the Resolute desk.
Various other pictures of the President doing something the right wingers claim no previous President has ever done that it quickly turns out they all did (bow to foreign leaders, have a personal assistant etc.)

The fact that these are always visual outrages seems to be pretty clearly significant.
