DeviantlyD -> Collarchat Oddity (9/26/2011 4:04:37 AM)

So I'm perving someone on collarchat that I am sort of acquainted with offline (long story)...I'm just overly curious in what his latest postings have been, so I do a search with his username. When the page of links comes up, under the "Topics" part, the thread title says one thing, but when I click on it, I'm led to an entirely different thread. Yes I'm led to his posts, but I find it odd that the thread name under "Topics" is entirely different. This isn't the first time it's happened. But it hadn't happened in a while and I thought I just read it wrong, being tired.

I'm not complaining. I just find it....odd.

xxblushesxx -> I Changed the Name of DD's Thread! (9/26/2011 4:07:23 AM)

Were they threads whose name had been changed by other posters? Like I did to yours?

DeviantlyD -> RE: I Changed the Name of DD's Thread! (9/26/2011 4:10:09 AM)

Oh no, it isn't that kind of change. The name of the thread that was under the "Topics" was one in this forum that has been long established. I thought it was very odd that he would post to that particular thread, but when I clicked on the link, it led me to an entirely different thread.

xxblushesxx -> RE: I Changed the Name of DD's Thread! (9/26/2011 4:18:32 AM)

Weird.

DeviantlyD -> RE: I Changed the Name of DD's Thread! (9/26/2011 4:23:32 AM)

It was. And disappointing 'cause I so wanted to see what he would post under that thread....and he hadn't! *LOL*

You see how easy it is???

changing the appearance of a threadname :)

DeviantlyD -> RE: And now I did change DD's threadname (9/26/2011 5:29:42 AM)

As I explained to blushes, the thread title change that both of you made, isn't the one I'm referring to. When I perved the list of threads this guy posted under, the list included the "I admit it I..." thread. Three entries were indicated for that thread. But he's never posted on that thread, yet the search list showed he had done so.

Charnegui -> RE: And now I did change DD's threadname (9/26/2011 5:52:08 AM)

okay now I get you.... wouldn't have the answer to it.. sorry.....

but left you a message in the piggiethread [;)]

yourdarkdesire -> RE: And now I did change DD's threadname (9/26/2011 2:14:16 PM)

maybe his posts had been removed by the mods?

DeviantlyD -> RE: And now I did change DD's threadname (9/27/2011 4:05:29 AM)

Noooo...that is so not him. Besides, if his posts were gone, I would have gotten the "private forum" page and not the one that led to an actual post he had made, but in an entirely different thread.

VideoAdminAlpha -> RE: And now I did change DD's threadname (9/27/2011 6:33:25 AM)

The only time you will get the private page is if you are posting or accessing it at the same time it is being pulled. You do not get a reference to it at a later date on trying to view. I do not know if that is the reason, and there are other possibilities also.

DISCLAIMER:I do not know who or what link it was so am not trying to hazard a guess OR start a discussion/theory thread on what the various possibilities might be of these or any posts made on the boards in general. My statement is only to show that there are actually possible reasons instead of glitches why this happens.

I think I understand and can hopefully explain how this happens.
For example, there is a thread in Ask A Submissive that was originally titled
"Questioning an outsider", but was changed during the responses to " I Admit It".
There was also a thread in General BDSM that was titled "Broadening Horizons",
which was changed to " I Admit It". (Same culprit involved too! He's a baaaaaaad man!)

If someone replies to the person that changed the title, or the chain reaction of posters
that followed that change, then it will appear in the search thread under that edited title.
Not to be confused with the actual I Admit Thread, which is located in Polls and Snippets.
I hope this explains it? [:D]

xxblushesxx -> RE: And now I did change DD's threadname (9/27/2011 1:23:21 PM)

Poise, I think we tried to give her that answer like three times. It's something else, but no one knows what.

DeviantlyD -> RE: And now I did change DD's threadname (9/27/2011 10:39:21 PM)

I give up trying to explain it.

DeviantlyD -> RE: And now I did change DD's threadname (9/27/2011 11:45:27 PM)

Okay, so for those curious, I have an embarrassing admission to make. I checked the posts again and I found that he had changed the title for three different posts for different threads and used a well known thread title (in an entirely different forum) as the "new" title. Oh, if he knew, he'd have a damn good laugh, I'm sure. :P

blushes :P

So happy to have entertained you! I coulda said nothing you know. ;)

xxblushesxx -> RE: DeviantlyD is Funny!! (9/28/2011 12:46:25 AM)

Naw...you HAD to share this. It was too funny not to! (I was starting to wonder when people were going to quit giving you the same answer over and over though.)
