Arcularius -> The Female in Bondage - A Story of Purification? (9/26/2011 2:16:39 PM)

Much has been written about the psychological origins of dominance and submission. Looking for a model that works intuitively for me, I studied the christian Seven Deadly Sins (SDS).

One reason for this is the so called Daddy-attitude some submissives have: the wish to bow down to a masculine father figure, feeling like a pampered or obedient child while having to fulfill his law. This bears religious aspects.

The other reason for my investigation was the experience that some sort of relief is sought by being reduced. This bears religious aspects, too.

But reduced to what - and what is to be removed during this process? At this point the SDS enter the stage. These sins are the basis for all other sins. Being adventurous, the religious connotation could be transformed to an idea of psychological health, defined by the absence of these sins.

Is getting rid of the SDS by the means of dominance and submission a spiritual path? Let's examine the sins in context.

Lust - feel obsessed with your sexual impulses? How about letting somebody else take control.

Gluttony - there is too much of you present psychologically or you are can't handle what you have gathered? How about letting somebody else set the borders.

Avarice - are you a material girl? How about letting somebody else reduce you to your mental matter, the soul.

Sloth - there seems to be no real reason to do what you know you should do? How about letting somebody else set and enforce the expectations?

Wrath - feel that YOU have the right to …? How about letting somebody else tell you what just is and what not?

Envy - feeling that others shouldn't be that attractive? How about letting somebody else show you that you are wanted if you behave?

Superbia - feeling that nobody realizes how fantastic you are and how shallow they themselves are? How about letting somebody else instrument your body, emotions and thoughts for his real, not claimed, pleasure.
