Oh for pete's sake, just brush your damn teeth w/Colgate or Crest, rinse w/hydrogen peroxide (50% peroxide & 50% water) & that will suffice.  Unless of course you're against the particles in the water then I'll suggest that you use bottle water or don't you trust that either? Then use filtered water unless of course there are particles in the filter.

Is she the same one that douched with Clorox?

Chrissy, Squidbillies is either a fabulous cartoon on Adult Swim, or a crime against nature! Possibly both. It's about a family of Georgia Land Squid, and their hillbilly adventures with alcohol, trucks, and similar pastimes.

i'd worry more about your choice of diet and your general poor health.
it's not the fluoride that's going to kill you.

When I asked him about the baking soda (which is harmless) he did bring up peroxide. I believe it was not a good idea, but I'll have to get clarification. (tonight)

I am wanting to stay away from floride and a lot of other stuff in tooth paste and I am a cheapscate, not gonna pay more than a few bucks for tooth paste. I'm also not worried bout whitening my teeth with my t paste.

LMFAO -----> shit, while youre on that note, why bother to brush your teeth at all? Just think - you could save a whole 50 dollars a year if you dont buy toothpaste or toothbrushes.

Just let 'em rot out and then you wont have to worry about it - period.

xxblushesxx -> RE: is baking soda and water ok to brush teeth with? (9/28/2011 3:13:41 PM)

Ok, He said you shouldn't rinse your mouth with peroxide even if it's diluted as it's known to be a carcinogen.

I don't doubt it'd taste awful, but aside from that?

It tastes like total crappola in my opinion. Also, you can get flouride toothpaste for sensitive teeth from the Dollar Tree. $1 + tax isn't too expensive for dental health.

Toppingfrmbottom -> RE: is baking soda and water ok to brush teeth with? (9/28/2011 5:03:04 PM)

Do you spend a lot of time tasting crap( winks cheekily)

The whole point of using it would be to not have the florid so getting fluoridated tooth paste at the dollar store would be kinda against the point.

I usually use aim, it's about a 1, I think it's like 98 cents plus tax and since I am the only one who uses that brand, lasts a good long time.

What about fluoride makes you want to avoid it?

Toppingfrmbottom -> RE: is baking soda and water ok to brush teeth with? (9/28/2011 5:14:14 PM)

Well as far as not having sweeteners and other crap you don't want in it, it probably is. I am not saying I don't brush my teeth, I'm saying I won't pay more than 1-2 dollars for a thing of tooth paste. And that I was curious about baking soda because it wouldn't have florid in it.

You can get a two pack of colgate from walgreens for under 6 bucks.

Have you wondered how many cents a day that would work out at?

Then offset that against the future cost of dental care....

I think only a jackass would come to the conlusion that baking soda is a better bet. But that's just my opinion.

Toppingfrmbottom -> RE: is baking soda and water ok to brush teeth with? (9/28/2011 5:24:08 PM)

I've heard a couple of articles saying it's just not beneficial past certain ages. Some articles says it's bad for you and does more harm than good, To much of it can cause brown spots to appear on your teeth,. course it's likely hard to get to much from tooth paste, but also really just what is it supposed to do.

Well, then, i would take the articles you are speaking about, your knowledge of what they say and ask your dentist.  Tell him you are looking for a low cost toothpaste and are worried about flouride due to the articles and information you have heard.

I would even go to the dollar store and write down the different toothpastes that have prices in what you want to spend, and ask your dentist to recommend on, or is there a inexpensive home toothpaste you can make or if he feels baking soda and water is okay.

Hell, my dentist gave me not only toothpaste (crest - which is what i prefer anyway), and mouthwash.  They may give you a couple samples.
