What a wonderful movement. Peaceful and yet massively productive. Aimed at the heart of the problem - the too big to fail banks, the Federal Reserve, and the stock market. Great to see people coming together as the 99% against corruption and greed from our "overlords"! This will grow hugely.

Sad to see people putting it down despite not knowing anything about it other than what the banks (via the bought and paid for media) are telling them. They'll either be left in the dust or they'll come around eventually.

There are at least 8 posters here who will never agree to that, and thats being conservative, they see it, as nothing more than a leftists plot, they would rather blow up their scrotums than have anything to do with it:)
but I agree withyou!!

I don't reckon it's over yet

Whatever was there will have informed minds, minds that think and from thought comes more thought then education then action, small pieces of information have the ability to grow beyond all proportions, all it takes is interest.

Assange knew what he was risking by his actions and paid the price, but he got the information out there, things have changed, maybe infinitesimally for now, but there is a change.

Now if everyone gathered the courage to step over the line, just as those who are the subject of this thread have done, change will come, a change which I suspect will not be wholesome at first as those in power who want to hold onto their power will kick back harshly, but if enough people join the fight for change, it will happen in their favour eventually, just as it has done in various Middle Eastern and North African states with the so called Arab Spring, and to think, those places are supposedly less free than the great US of A, but it happened and that is the importance, because it inspires hope for all others.

What you say here, reminds me of Gandhi...

Yea, but it's not a poster of or for Obama. It's more in accord with the declaration of the Occupy Wall St thing.

Declaration of the Occupation of New York City
THIS DOCUMENT WAS ACCEPTED BY THE NYC GENERAL ASSEMBLY ON SEPTEMBER 29, 2011

As we gather together in solidarity to express a feeling of mass injustice, we must not lose sight of what brought us together. We write so that all people who feel wronged by the corporate forces of the world can know that we are your allies.

As one people, united, we acknowledge the reality: that the future of the human race requires the cooperation of its members; that our system must protect our rights, and upon corruption of that system, it is up to the individuals to protect their own rights, and those of their neighbors; that a democratic government derives its just power from the people, but corporations do not seek consent to extract wealth from the people and the Earth; and that no true democracy is attainable when the process is determined by economic power. We come to you at a time when corporations, which place profit over people, self-interest over justice, and oppression over equality, run our governments. We have peaceably assembled here, as is our right, to let these facts be known.

They have taken our houses through an illegal foreclosure process, despite not having the original mortgage.

They have taken bailouts from taxpayers with impunity, and continue to give Executives exorbitant bonuses.

They have perpetuated inequality and discrimination in the workplace based on age, the color of one’s skin, sex, gender identity and sexual orientation.

They have poisoned the food supply through negligence, and undermined the farming system through monopolization.

They have profited off of the torture, confinement, and cruel treatment of countless animals, and actively hide these practices.

They have continuously sought to strip employees of the right to negotiate for better pay and safer working conditions.

They have held students hostage with tens of thousands of dollars of debt on education, which is itself a human right.

They have consistently outsourced labor and used that outsourcing as leverage to cut workers’ healthcare and pay.

They have influenced the courts to achieve the same rights as people, with none of the culpability or responsibility.

They have spent millions of dollars on legal teams that look for ways to get them out of contracts in regards to health insurance.

They have sold our privacy as a commodity.

They have used the military and police force to prevent freedom of the press. They have deliberately declined to recall faulty products endangering lives in pursuit of profit.

They determine economic policy, despite the catastrophic failures their policies have produced and continue to produce.

They have donated large sums of money to politicians, who are responsible for regulating them.

They continue to block alternate forms of energy to keep us dependent on oil.

They continue to block generic forms of medicine that could save people’s lives or provide relief in order to protect investments that have already turned a substantial profit.

They have purposely covered up oil spills, accidents, faulty bookkeeping, and inactive ingredients in pursuit of profit.

They purposefully keep people misinformed and fearful through their control of the media.

They have accepted private contracts to murder prisoners even when presented with serious doubts about their guilt.

They have perpetuated colonialism at home and abroad. They have participated in the torture and murder of innocent civilians overseas.

They continue to create weapons of mass destruction in order to receive government contracts. *

To the people of the world,

We, the New York City General Assembly occupying Wall Street in Liberty Square, urge you to assert your power.

Exercise your right to peaceably assemble; occupy public space; create a process to address the problems we face, and generate solutions accessible to everyone.

To all communities that take action and form groups in the spirit of direct democracy, we offer support, documentation, and all of the resources at our disposal.

Join us and make your voices heard!

*These grievances are not all-inclusive.

I'm not saying I agree with all the reasons they are protesting, but I am among the lower 98%

(keep up, servant!)

So they are allies of the Government of Iran??? The Iranian Government certainly feels, "wronged by the corporate forces of the world".

Or is just a poorly thought out, silly document, that really doesn't mean much?

You think NY (and all the other "Occupy" protests cropping up about the USA) is a part of Iran?? Or that they (Iranians) are the only ones who can feel wronged?

Actually, I think this protest is not only starting to grow, but to become more organized. And the NYPD must not think it's so silly that they would waste their time to use physical violence on a non-violent protest. I think this protest has already passed the ignore stage and might even skip the being laughed at stage, but I'm just watching it.

Well no doubt if it works in the US, as with all things Britain will follow, I just hope rent-a-mob doesn't come out to turn peaceful protest into war. P.s, one can always tell who members of rent-a-mob and other malignant factions are NF and their derivitives aways seem to be the ones who conceal their identity.

Therefore anyone concealing their identity is not at an assembly for peaceful protest, and it is they that need to be the focus of the plod if it is the plod want a scrap.

if you go to the london site of "take the square", they have details on how to spot groups of agent provocateurs.
http://takethesquare.net/2011/08/14/how-to-identify-an-agent-provocateur/
http://www.15mlondon.org/

There is a get together on canary wharf and another one too, gonna look for the links
http://www.facebook.com/occupylondon

The fact that its gone this long without any "violence" is really pissing off a lot of nay sayers(here too), I hope the violence is minimalised by the good it does
I have my doubts, but Im a cynical bitch anyway..

I love the spin you put on this. ree ducation CAMPS? How many one percenters do you think there are? More like a class, you know like a cooking class. Only for naughty people.

Is Roseanne a one percenter? I doubt it. Bow to HER demands? Common sense-- people not willing to put back into the world after making ONE HUNDRED MILLION dollars is not a silly whim it is plain good sense and if the greedy ones refuse they do deserve to die hahaha. Be nice or leave the planet.

Your silly name calling and spins on things dementedly vibrates.
