his AIT course. I don't know that there is a MOS for that.
Thanks for the further details, Owner59 wasn't providing them. Unfortunately none of it makes sense. What do AIT and MOS stand for.

AIT is Advanced Individual Training...training in your specialty after Basic Training. MOS is basically the job description for your specialty. (Military Occupation Specialty)

tazzygirl -> RE: Hmmm..."An update on Posting Style in this category" (9/28/2011 11:45:34 PM)

AIT is advanced individual training

MOS is Military Occupational Specialty

Perhaps 11 will be helping?

Advanced Individual Training (the military schooling after basic, where you attain your MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) after you learn to operate radios and tear down guns in basic mine was eleven bravo 11B eventually 40 11B40 meaning I was an infantry sergeant. I was other shit, but not for publication and I dont want to talk about it.

here is the deal, everything (probably even a penis or a clitoris) has a number in the military. see this:

http://www.us-army-info.com/pages/mos/medical/medical-mos.html

everything has a federal stock number FSN a army 45 (no longer the weapon of choice was a M1911A1 or M1911A2) and I guess now they are called NSN (National stock numbers?)

http://www.armyproperty.com/nsn/6532-01-524-6932

here is a blanket

He's offered to prove it, and you refuse to accept the offer.

You're claim he is lying is based on faulty math, he wasn't "years to young" to have served in Vietnam. He claims to have enlisted in 1970, which depending on when his birthday is could put him at age 18.

How do you account for those facts?

since you know its almost my birthday, it would put me at almost 19 at the time :)

"If this is not the thread to point that out....then what is?"

Maybe the Orson Wells disclaimer issue ? I mean that is sooo fucking stupid.

T^T

Damn, that's a good idea!

But I don't know how to reach her, exactly.

I have my suspicions about who she is, though, and I also suspect that she wouldn't come.

Thanks both of you. Now how do they prove he wasn't in the war? How long does training to be a medic take? Basic takes a few month, right? How long is the AIT training?

tazzygirl -> RE: Hmmm..."An update on Posting Style in this category" (9/28/2011 11:51:35 PM)

Basic is usually 6-8 weeks. AIT for a medic can take up to 68 weeks. sorry.

Basic was 10 weeks, Medic AIT was 14 weeks

mnottertail -> RE: Hmmm..."An update on Posting Style in this category" (9/28/2011 11:59:05 PM)

3 months or so. There are more things that dont add he has said, but I dont have the cites at hand here. No biggie. If he was a medic in a burn unit in VietNam after 70 (he didnt get out of AIT until sometime in 72 according to his own words, I dont know where you got 1970 from did he say that here?) he would have been in a field hospital, and only rubbing vaseline and sticking cheesecloth on it to evac them to germany or stateside (but mostly germany) at that time, which would have put him close to Long Bien, Tan San Nhut or what the fuck was that other one? Where you rotated to the world?

The US knew it was leaving VietNam a long time before they did, and they started consolidating and closing up medical shop there in early 70...

But he has never said as of late I was this I was here I wasnt that I wasnt here.....you know what I mean? It is all vague and leading to interpretation so that one can say, well I never said THAT, when cornered.

Well... I do not believe in hiding or ratting out officially or otherwise.

BUT

The Moderator's who's job it is, (volunteers as they may be) have continued to ignore it.

The question them becomes....

Why?

Some things deserve to be "ratted out".

I can't speak for the mods, but I suspect a couple of things, about how they perceive things and what they are willing to step into.

First ... esp in this forum, as they have said, they tend to be a little more "hands off".

Second, I suspect that you don't want to become known as someone who reports a problem, if you are doing the same or similar things.

Third, if you can show several times in which you did not insult or lose your moral position, and attempted to calm things down, and were insulted and attacked again and again, a calm description of the facts with links to locations might get the offending party at least an inquiry or gold-note.  That's usually enough to straighten things out.

This method would be best because I suspect the mods do not read the threads with the same degree of attention that general posters do.  I also suspect that the mods would like to stay away from this particular forum all together, if they could.  It's the "problem forum", and unless you are interested in the subject matter, it can be deadening and boring and all that you really see are the flames.

Several conditions there.  Several assumptions there.  Just a recommendation.

The most important recommendation I can give is simply do not feed back to whoever it is that is attacking, insulting or stalking.  This just feeds the problem.

Why KC? More likely Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indiana for permanent 201 files.

My bill is bigger than your bill. Because mine is the best advice.

This is like that thing where you look in a mirror, looking in a mirror, looking in a mirror.....

HeatherMcLeather -> RE: Hmmm..."An update on Posting Style in this category" (9/29/2011 12:07:26 AM)

So, it just boils down to suspicion, on some flimsy evidence, mostly just a case of things being unlikely. Which effectively makes you guys liars, right? Because you stated outright that he lied, when all you really have is a gut feeling that he lied about at least some of it.

Cool, good to know.

mnottertail -> RE: Hmmm..."An update on Posting Style in this category" (9/29/2011 12:08:32 AM)

Nope, you are lying about that. I never said that.
