Missokyst -> RE: I renounce all serious threads! (10/1/2011 9:26:10 AM)

How about good and bad? I am babysitting the cats while the girls are away. Last night in mid bathroom break the more reticent cat refused to let me out of the door without petting him. He reached up his paws and grabbed my hands for a good pet. I put him on a bed and gave him several pets until he calmed down. I am exhausted this morning, but Frodo seems a lot less aggitated.

While in the hospital being treated for that swimming misshap back in May I aquired necrotizing fasciitis. I was treated over several weeks and it did a good job of setting me back as far as rehab for the the aputationed leg goes but I healed anyway(I'm to dumb to die) When I got home they found a new infection. Not the same thing though. Thank you whatever doesn't hate me enough to make that happen again. Thank you for the kind thought.

ETA- Now on to those chicken wings.[:)]

OK, Poise just won the thread...in a rout.

And THAT is why I seriously adore Poise!!!

(now if only she wasn't so.......straight...)[:'(]

LaTigresse -> RE: I renounce all serious threads! (10/1/2011 12:18:30 PM)

As for the good stuff.........well..

I recovered from our company appreciation event and cooking for 5 hours. I had really cook CAKE! TWICE! Some wine. Got most of the end of month stuff done. Went to a charity silent auction/wine tasting event. The photo I donated sold for $ 150.00 and I got a really nice french carving set for next to nothing. Had some great wines and cheeses, and visited with some people I really enjoy. Had a great night sleep and tadaaaaaaaaa it's the weekend!

Today I got some more good shots for a project I am working on and bought a rose bush and a white paper birch tree on clearance for less than $20.00. And I've been relaxing here at home with my fur babies, painted my toe nails an AWESOME shade of dark purple and am basically feeling pretty darn self satisfied.

GreedyTop -> RE: I renounce all serious threads! (10/1/2011 12:24:50 PM)

I just had an awesome LONG phonecall with Redilicious (although I should have been gone to nap at least an hour ago...)
My Landlord called to apologize for not coming by to pick up the rent check, and said he'd be by Mon at the latest...

AT THE MOMENT.. the nieghbors are NOT using very loud power tools to add on/take off/modify their homes.. so maybe I'll get some sleep, after all..

I learned yesterday that the one person on front desk that is most likely to (and usually does) screw up on check ins and reservations will NOT be there much longer!! YAY!!

Lockit -> RE: I renounce all serious threads! (10/1/2011 2:56:32 PM)

The dog across the street stopped barking finally, after weeks of it. I feel bad for him as they chain him up and don't pay any attention to him. I think he gets a new home this weekend on a farm! Woot for all of us!

I got out of a dinner date! hehehe (My poor tummy... for reals! The hehehe part was only because I didn't want to go because I can't eat there and they were trying to fix me up with some male! I'm told I can't get out of a dinner party for my birthday and was warned I better be well.)

My son hasn't wanted to hurt the dog or dog owner... believe me, that is a good thing! lol

And last but not least... I have great friends and some of them are right here on CM!

SoulAlloy -> RE: I renounce all serious threads! (10/1/2011 3:01:13 PM)

We took my son to the zoo today and actually saw a number of reptiles moving! (Including some very promiscuous tortoises)

Must be this mini heat wave we're having

Lockit -> RE: I renounce all serious threads! (10/1/2011 3:05:34 PM)

SoulAlloy... [:D] That reminded me of a day at a zoo type place where I saw ostriches mating. That was the funniest thing I ever saw. When done.. the male did this lil head movement and ran off. No thanks or anything! No need to tell you what I thought! [;)]

In response to the OP: I had something really awsome happen to me not to long ago! My sister baked some of her famous ooey gooey peanut butter cookies for an art exhibition I'm currently at (I work at an art center). She had some extras so she gave me a plate. MY SISTER MAKES THE BEST FUCKING COOKIES AND HER OOEY GOOEY PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES ARE TO DIE FOR! I've hidden the cookies in my desk and as soon as this is over I'm going home, smoking a doobies and chowing down!

JstAnotherSub -> RE: I renounce all serious threads! (10/1/2011 6:21:44 PM)

I sat on the back deck, in a rocking chair and finally felt the first coolness of fall!  Add to that, some herbal therapy and giggling watching my dog walk for 10 minutes, searching for that perfect spot to poop on, well, it has been a most wonderful and relaxing day.

Very true, I've adopted a policy of throwing in the occasional comment here and there but the Internet war is over as far as I'm concerned. [;)] Had a late night so not much happened today yet but "stop the presses" - I did have two very nice croissants for breakfast... [:)]

Damn you! I'm going to Costco and I always have a hard time passing by those buttery, calorie-laden croissants! (I coulda sworn that I read once there were Costco locations in Ireland, but I see it's the UK.)

Wow! You're a survivor Miss!! And fortunate. I wish you an infection free (or relatively so) future. And wish you well on your continued rehab. :)

Awww, I wish you would have gone, who knows? It might have been someone you clicked with. ;) Mind you...I can completely understand how you feel. I wouldn't want to be fixed up either! :D Why can't you eat at the place you were supposed to go to?

Those damn frickin' tortoises! Damn them for flaunting their lifestyle habits. Don't you hate when that happens?? :P

I hope for your sake no one has discovered your stash. :P Personally, I am dubious as to the claims you are making. I will selflessly volunteer myself to confirm the deliciousness of your sister's cookies. (Why does that sound "dirty"? ha ha ha!) So just send one or a baker's dozen to me and I will provide evidence to our fellow posters to the veracity of your claims. *ahem* *smiles*

What is this herbal therapy of which you speak? *eyes JstAnotherSub suspiciously*

I got my fiance home from work a half hour early, and got some quality snuggle/sleep time with him. ^_^

Yay! :) Snuggles are always a good thing. :)

FelineFae -> RE: I renounce all serious threads! (10/2/2011 3:50:39 AM)

Last 24 hrs ?

Sleeping in a *cat-tangle, sewing and listening to Pandora, and not straying too far from space-heater's side.

*Cat-tangle = While puppy dogs may pile into a heep to snooze, cats are very flexible mamals and tend to get "tangled up" while sharing a common sleeping area.

Sorry lol. Don't know if you have the tins of doughy (roll-out) ready to bake croissants over there. Not to add to your pain but they're really nice just out of the oven - nicer than heating up ready made ones so when you are off your diet(?) bear that in mind. I think Danerolles is the main brand, which I was told caused a sensation in France a few decades ago when they first came out! [:)] I don't think Costco is here or at least not near where I am.
