I only disagree with you when you are wrong.

While I find your posts overwhelmingly disagreeable, no matter who you are addressing, or on what topic.

I can disagree without being disagreeable.
I can be disagreeable with those who are rude to me.
Your choice.

The way we take care of the unemployed in a free society..... is by promoting an environment of economic growth and recovery.

Impossible, given the short cuts and shenanigans on Wall Street.

You misspelled Washington.

That statement reminds me of all the people who carry on about how the market is all about supply and demand...yada yada. But why didn't that same mindset apply to the banks and all of those bailouts they handily accepted? Personally I would have liked to have seen them either survive or tank without the bailout money. Yeah, it would have had consequences, and domino effects, etc. etc. But I think the end result would have been far better than what's going on now.

I agree, there should have been no bailout. But we have yet to see the repercussions of it. Whats going on now has nothing to do with the bank bailouts...they have all been repaid with interest.

The Treasury has been earning a return on most of the money invested or loaned. So far, it has earned $67 billion. When those revenues are taken into account, $235 billion is the net still outstanding as of Oct. 5, 2011.

How many are banks?

Here is the list...

Remind me what is the first tenet of the American constitution,
I think it goes like this we stand before the people here present that all men ( women included) we are talking mankind are created equal. Hmm very idealistic , wonderful rhetoric shame you violate this principle in almost every action you carry out from over paying under performing staff to treating the majority who after all keep the country on the road like cattle, tax tax and more tax, not to mention disenfranchise the rest who dont fit in to your cumbersome world view of capitalism money markets, team players, where was the solidarity when we most needed hey, not much leadership during the sub prime mortgage crisis thats for sure which to my memory snowballed into the worst recession since 1929 which is affecting the world today but how and ever i guess that s not America's fault, it just so happened in your land, good old uncle same is never to blame for anything of course, what is this system of capitalism oh yes it originates in America and what a wonderful success it has been, simply delightful, so delightful that millions are out of work as a result of this monster which pays the top brass huge money with shag all responsibilities and sure if it doesnt work out the good old taxpayer will bail them out, and the bottom brass peanuts with huge responsibilities attached and sanctions for failure to meet targets, targets which none of the top farts ever meet, very egalitarian altogether, America the land of the free is a magnificent example , priding itself on capital punishment, rank injustice, as witnessed by the number of prisoners in America who are actually mentally ill, and jobs for those who are at the top and pain for everyone else, yeah America is sure a model. NOT not by a long way. It s your system that has successfully stuffed up the world economy, thank you
kevin

Ireland had problems LONG before my country even existed. We didn't cause your problems and you have no reasonable understanding of our laws, which is obvious from your posts. A sexual predator and a pedophile are considered "mentally ill" but fully capable of knowing right from wrong. In this country, you would have been found guilty of sexual harassment I'm sure, and I KNOW you suffer from some form of mental illness.

It's easy to try to place blame everywhere. It is not easy, as you so obviously show by your own words to take responsibility for your own faults.

If it weren't for the US, YOU wouldn't even have this site to post on, since it is a US based site.

Herman Cain said it best, "if your unemployed and not wealth its your own damn fault" Which why he blames Obama and the government for the soaring Unemployment. Its Obama's fault that corporations dont want to hire the unemployed, if Obama didnt destroy the economy in 2008 which his mortgage scandal then everyone would be employed and free be able to find new jobs. Thats how the Job Market works. Discriminating against the unemployed is only fair and simple its because they are lazy. Like Herman Cain and Jon Kyl I don have all the Facts to back it up or is my last statement instead to be a factual statement. I am simply saying it because it needs to be said.

Iamsemisweet -> RE: Unemployed seek protection against job bias (10/11/2011 7:13:27 AM)

It is pretty funny that this thread has gone on for 8 pages, when the so called "protection" in the jobs bill (which isn't going to pass anyway) is so meaningless.  But, party on!
