Which metals should be totally avoided with this sort of hands-on/sexual devices?

Obviously want nothing to do with mercury or lead or pure potassium or anything radioactive.

But are there other metals, less known for their dangerous nature, that need to be kept away from this scene?

are you talking about for collars or restraints? things like that?
some people with nickel allergies might have issues with stainless steel. while stainless is generally regarded as "safe," some people do have issues with it.
that's the metal most commonly used for insertable metal toys.

if you're buying a collar, just find out if the person has had past issues with metals. i know Vad Farkas has fabric sleeves for his collars. you can also paint clear nailpolish or attach felt to the surface where it touches skin.

I've heard of a gold allergy, and I used to have a plated watch that turned my wrist green and irritated the hell out of my eczema, think that was brass underneath but can't remember, I didn't wear it for long...

for that radioactive look you could go for one of the violet wand probes, i'v seen a lovely glowing purple one in action before ;)

My thought is that there is a reason surgical instruments are made out of surgical stainless steel.

Some components of body fluid are acidic and even if ever so slightly corrosive could combine with some metals to make salts or other compounds, which might not be desirable in the body.

Alot of people also do not realize that many metals are porous enough that they would be difficult to sterilize. That's also why they chrome plate some things. I bet rich fuckers used to have silver surgical instruments but then silver is so soft that stainless is actually better period, but it's also cheaper. I guess it is the poor man's silver.

Your body is 90+% water, and has all kinds of compounds in it, even your skin, the palms of your hands and soles of your feet react with everything they touch. Metals react with water, if they didn't we would not be able to survive.

But if you got anemia you can't just rub your hands on some iron......... it doesn't work like that. Like a copper dildo ? Never. Aluminun ? Probably not the best idea. I am not saying this shit will kill you right away but it might have a detrinmental long term effect.

Dp what you want, but I am going to keep my carbide tool bits sharp so I can machine stainless steel. It is simply the material of choice. You might be able to get away with aluminum but I would suggest a highly polished surface or a coating. Well if you coat it well enough it could be almost anything.

Well maybe not uranium.

I have found some people suffer skin reactions where they are in contact with the base of the copper rivets I use in constructing cuffs and other leather bondage devices . A layer of lightweight pigskin bonded over the rivets with Barge cement appears to solve the problem.

This seems to happen to a lesser extent with brass and nickle plated hardware as well, with the same fix remedying the issue.
