Can I just ask a question that's bugging me because I'm getting quite a lot of abuse on here. Is Collarme actually a BDSM dating site? I was led to believe that it wasn't. Quite a few so called "doms" are getting offended because I'm owned and collared and not actually looking for anything. I'm relatively new to all of this (only been on the edges of this lifestyle for approx 3 years, and only 7 months into a proper D/s relationship) and I'm wanting to educate myself and read up on it all.

Well it is part of the virtual web. make sure you dont have looking for anything checked, make yourself 99 years old and 750 pounds, 8 feet tall, and put up a very vanilla pic, and you will see a great amount of reduction in scabrous louts. Scabrous louts are not confined to CollarMe, they are on all websites and exist in all the real worlds as well.

But is this place an actual "dating site" for BDSM? I'm being accused of wasting peoples' time being on here. I'm also alarmed and disgusted by the level of aggression and anger on here. It doesn't seem like a particularly friendly site :(

The profile section is set up like a dating site, the forums not so much (they are more community-based). Welcome to CM. I have found that you will go through a period of time as "fresh meat" where "Doms" only look at the photo and not the profile and send a canned message.

Lots of people are just here for the forums and say that in their profile. Do change your age to 99 and weight to 999 and wait for the traffic to die down after your newness wears off. While collarme is the dating side, feel free to block/delete/report anyone who is abusive. Collarchat is the discussion side, and can get abusive too, but in a different way, and that gets cleaned up by our saintly moderators. It's mostly a lot of fun though - strap on a thick skin and enjoy! You can keep that (lovely) avatar here and have a different (or no) picture there.

thebeginner, (Borrowing from GreedyTop,) Dark Side FTW! Some people get hit harder than others with mail they don't want. Sounds like you have gotten hit hard. Probably that nice picture. There are all kinds of mail preferences. Maybe you should check those out. Otherwise, it is a pretty friendly site, that said, there are tens of thousands of users, and not everyone watched Sesame Street and learned their manners.
