You realize, of course, that "53%" talking point is just those that pay income and capital gains taxes, right? Last I checked, 100% still paid payroll, excise, sales, state and local taxes. Most of the "53%"'s taxes they're so pissed about in reality go towards bombing the hell out of and occupying other countries, building new and interesting ways to bomb the hell out of and occupy other countries, funding private contractors to rebuild other countries we bombed the hell out of and occupy, and funding a military that's in reality a few magnitudes larger than we actually need to defend our own country. On top of things like bail out assholes who built a financial system designed to fail and fail-deadly, profit from that failure, and with the knowledge they'd get actively rewarded by the government for it. The only "entitled freeloaders" the 53% pay for are the military-industrial complex and Wall Street, to be quite frank.

They're not sucking government teat if they're paying sales and excise taxes, are they?

That's why talking about INCOME taxes alone is intellectually dishonest. Who does raising the gas tax a dime hurt more?

And you do realize, that 18% is made up of the elderly on social security they'd paid into their entire working lives; the working poor who receive food stamps, medicaid because they earn slave-wages; the disabled who are unable to work; children who are poor through no fault of their own (unless you want to demonize them for not being born into a wealthy family) who get free school lunches; the unemployed who are thus through no fault of their own (there happens to be somewhere around 5-6 applicants for every available job, not to mention some businesses have begun the policy not to hire anybody who wouldn't be moving from another job). 

Yeah, lets through all those people to the wolves.  It makes far more sense to continue corporate welfare where the banks and oil companies get tax money than to give a little bit to help the poor, disabled and elderly feed themselves. 

You really are some piece of work.
