Wow, can't believe no one else has started it ...

Well, we had puppies last night.  4 red and white Shih Tzus joined us sometime between 4:30p (when rob leaves for work) and 6:30p (when Holly gets home from work).  This is Alchemy's first litter and she's doing quite well.  Pandi is due sometime around the 18th (although Chemy was due around the 8th and we see how that went).

Other than that, things are same old, same old.

How is everyone else doing?

MistressDarkArt -> RE: November Roll Call (11/1/2011 8:37:55 PM)

SD, congrats on your puppies!

November already! The contra season continues with all the whoopin', hollerin', stompin' and hot east coast bands I can handle. Last weekend was our Halloween costume dance; I went as my alter-ego Katarina Kuntlikova the Russian prison matron from the Gulag. It was quite enjoyable handcuffing and interrogating my partners between dances. [:D] Also, the debut waltz workshop S and I played was great fun and a good opportunity to work out some equipment bugs before we have to play a full 3-hour dance.

Weather's been fantastic! Beautiful at the beach and hopefully I can convince Cabin Boy to drop everything for a few days this month and sail up to the cove for one last hurrah before the end of the year. Have enjoyed some wonderful coastal hikes over the last several weeks...not like they're new destinations but when the weather is this stellar they take on a whole new appeal. Already wore out the last set of hiking boots in 8 months and am on to the new pair.

S goes into hibernation from now 'til just after New Year's. Cabin Boy has a tough row to hoe in the sandwich generation caring for his elder mom and single-parenting his young son; not much leisure time at present. I'm at my friskiest this time of year so am open to inviting another sub to the Lair while CB takes care of family obligations and S indulges his need-to-be-a-winter-hermit issue. I love encouraging the boys to take care of business and do what they need to do...while still getting my lifestyle needs met, of course. [:D]

All else is well in this corner of the world. Hope everyone enjoys a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I can relate to this. Except my hair hasn't changed colour....

Work (regular job is insanely busy) photo stuff is totally dead at the moment. I blew through my bank savings account (as opposed to retirement savings...thank god that is locked up away from me mostly) on some needed photo gear, tires for the zoom zoom and winter hay for the horses. Been doing a bit of "OMG OMG, I am broke!" So pushing the photo biz harder, some marketing stuff. Which of course costs moola too.

Xmas is looming around the corner and it may be a year where everyone gets mostly home made stuff. No one ever complains it is just my own personal expectations.

Generic Dude is whining about not having much cash also. New business, slow time of year.

Fortunately we had already discussed all of the above and are prepared to do what we need to to get through it. Focus on what is important and everything will be fine.

I've been enjoying our unusually warm fall with a lot of hiking on weekend. Not much has gotten done around here other than the daily chores but I know that the weather is going to change and there will be plenty of time, stuck indoors, to work on projects.

The grands that motocross finished 2nd and 3rd in their district and class this year. Impressive for a second year. The trophies are bigger than they are. Unfortunately their parents have continued on with arena cross. More worrying for me, and less time with them. Such is the life of a granny! The two little girls are turning out to be clones of their mother as far as temperament.......pay backs are a bitch dear daughter. I get the phone calls and just laugh. Fortunately my daughter has a terrific sense of humour and quite honestly, more patience with them than I do.

M/s, I've been communicating with a lovely woman from NY. Her job has been insanely busy the last few weeks so the communication has waned but not disappeared. Whatever else may or may not come of it, I have enjoyed visiting with her.

Over all, I would say life is good. I have more than I need and enjoy more of my life than not. I've added to the rock collection around the place with all of the hiking and rock hounding. Constantly exploring new cooking and foods. Enjoying the hell out of yoga and more time being physically active and challenging myself and my body.

As long as everyone is happy and healthy, I can keep myself in espresso, chocolate, fresh fruits/veggies and the occasional bottle of vino......life is good!

I'm thanking all that is holy that Halloween is finally over. My kidlet started asking about going trick-or-treating the first week of October and proceeded to pester me every. single. day. until the 31st. My Imp didn't decide what he wanted his costume to be until a week and a half before Halloween, so Spyder and I had to throw together a costume for him in three days.

Spyder has a new client who wants him to work from their office. I got spoiled with him working from home; now that he's gone during the day, I miss him lots. I got invited to write book reviews for a major web site but I think I'm going to decline. Although my writing would be seen by thousands of people and it would be great for my resume, they want a commitment of at least one review per week. I don't really have time for that. Otherwise, my life is a series of mommy moments as Kidlet and I figure out the best techniques for his homeschooling.

VaguelyCurious -> RE: November Roll Call (11/3/2011 12:11:15 AM)

New job! *bounce bounce bounce*

It's nothing glamorous, but I've been going on a billion and one training courses and I'm enjoying the hell out of it. Yay for being a productive member of society!

And I'm doing NaNoWriMo for the first time, so by this time next month my brain will be a dead, dead thing. But for now I am 80 words ahead of schedule.

I'm practising being single. It's weird - I've never really been a single adult before. I feel exceptionally, luxuriantly selfish.

So good times, really. [:)]

LadyHibiscus -> RE: November Roll Call (11/3/2011 6:12:48 AM)

Huzzzah for good times!

Hats off to you NaNoWriMo folk! I have pals that do it every year. When I was young, I wrote constantly, compullsively, but I made myself stop.

Where is LadyPact these days? She often starts the roll call.

mnottertail -> RE: November Roll Call (11/3/2011 10:25:01 AM)

Maybe she is out and about making pacts.

Madame4a -> RE: November Roll Call (11/4/2011 6:39:18 AM)

So many different things going on for everyone... seems like busy is in there for all of us...

last month, darling boy's job ended -- I packed her off and sent her to visit her family for 9 days -- that's the longest we have been
apart in 2.5 years but we managed. I was home on duty for 7 of those days so it was even a bit harder to be alone and not able to go do some social things -- in any case, she came back to her severance, a start date for her new job of Nov 1, and some big tax checks -- things are good. She has a very old nonworking jeep CJ and I told her to take some of that money and get the thing running -- we'll be two dykes in an open jeep when spring rolls around.

We managed to get to MD RenFair again last month, and then spent two glorious weekends at PA RenFair --- what luxury!

One of our best friends won the local bar contest, on his own, even though I was a judge, so we've spent a great deal of time supporting him and getting him ready for his big run at MAL in January. If he wins that, he's off to IML andI think we will be too.

This month we are working (starting tonight for the weekend) at our state-wide leather contest, I have a birthday coming up, the boy is in her new job (reserving judgement on that for the moment but she does have one), and hopefully doing nothing for Thanksgiving as our doing nothing plans last year were thwarted by an emergency trip to Florida.

Still missing my sweetboy kitty -- seems somedays its ok but when I crawl into bed and he's not there its very hard.

We're down to 3 puppies - but they are all doing well, as is mama, so I figure they'll be fine.

BonesFromAsh -> RE: November Roll Call (11/8/2011 7:39:39 AM)

Greetings All,

November started with a loss of power for 7 days (love those freak Halloween snowstorms!)...talk about living off-grid!

Things have been...interesting, to say the least, for me. I'm still trying to balance work/school/future business plans/play and not always doing a stellar job of it, but still managing to have some fun.

I'm no longer around here as often as I used to be, mainly because of FL and exploring life via my local kink crowd/club. Funny thing...I remember saying once that public play wasn't my thing. Just goes to show that people can change. ;-)

It's nice to check in here once in a while just to see how y'all are doing. I'm glad to read to goodness (and various challenges that are just part of living) that is for everyone.

NiceButMeanGirl -> RE: November Roll Call (11/8/2011 8:36:29 AM)

Hi there, I have a new username. I used to be Hisprettybaby but, as everyone knows, CM won't let someone change their username w/o creating a whole new profile. Which I did, first as an experiment, but now I realize there was more to it than that. I realize my switchiness was just me being on the road to becoming Dominant.

It's a beautiful day here in the Pacific NW! I'm already making holiday plans for this month and next. I like to get a jump on things and get done early!

I made a flogger for the first time. Out of turquoise blue leather from a dress someone gave me. It's really pretty. :) And it was fun to do. I will be making more of them as soon as I scrounge the leather from different places. lol

Delilya -> RE: November Roll Call (11/8/2011 1:30:10 PM)

Still taking care of my cousin who is really ill. Get cabin fever, but thankfully there is a nice quiet park here that I can sit in when she is napping, which is a lot.

The medicine they put my granddaughter on to help shrink the tumors in her brain seems to be working. Every day that we still have her is a blessing.

Boy toy will be here for a 2 week visit after the first of the year, and I am counting the days until then. And I have found a local sub who is really wonderful. Life is good.
