I never used to but lately last 2 waxes I do. I go months in between waxing, so it's not over waxing. The bumps are small hard, they don't itch on my eyebrows but they don't like being touched, an the ones on my chin are activly itchy an bothersome.

I'm thinking a reaction to the wax, or the stuff they put on your face to clean off the wax and sooth the skin.

Ingrown hairs. If there are that many the waxer did it wrong.

I did read some people break out too after waxing, little hard red bumps. I have bumps on my lip too now, so that makes eyebrow lip and chin broke out, with only the chin bothering me.

Good evening!

Hey girl! hope you're doing well and you look wonderful! I think maybe the person is doing it wrong or the wax isn't heated enough? I would wait till everything clears up and find another person just for a trial run and see if it happens again. I get red and a few bumps from the waxinf on my brows but they usually clear up after a day, esp with an ice cube.

::Whispers:: you know it's not uncommon for women to shave their faces with a razor! My mother was kinda "furry" and creams gave her too much redness so she used to shave. Maybe if that helps too and you could always do it in the shower with one of those shower mirrors. Anyhoots, take care and keep smiling!

Love,
Zechriel

I usually get bumps quite regularly when waxing. I wanna try threading but I'm not gonna go to the mall, and go to the first store,I'm gonna find qualified ppl.

It could be allergic (to the wax or to something else that they are using). And allergies can develop overtime, so just because you didn't have an allergic reaction before doesn't mean that it's not allergic now.

It could be ingrown hairs - best way to avoid this is to gently exfoliate the skin 48 hrs after the wax treatment. Exfoliation removes dead skin cells from the surface of your skin and prevent ingrown hairs from happening. Exfoliation can also prevent minor skin breakouts.

Sometimes the skin just gets irritated from the waxing, too (non-allergic skin irritation). I would be sure to apply an over the counter cortisone cream on your face after a treatment (something like Cortaid, readily available at any drugstore). Also, do not use water that is too hot on the waxed areas for at least 24 hours.

If, after all this, you are still experiencing this, I would not continue to wax, and try to use another hair removal method. Hope you are able to work this out. Hair removal...such a pain...

I seem to get hives from epilating my body. They almost completely go away by the next day though.

Why can't you shave your face?
We're not talking about the peach fuzz, which I agree shouldn't be touched.

The myth that it will grow back thicker like a man's is kind of outdated really.
Our hair grows back the same way on our legs, underarms, and bikini line no matter if we wax or shave. It doesn't get thicker on your face, and there are methods to use to ensure you don't get razor burn or any other facial problems.
