Okay, I've got four new ones:

1. There is a nude painting of my niece hanging on the wall in front of me.

2. I was almost killed in a roller coaster accident.

3. I once had Tim McVeigh in the back of my cab.

4. I was once followed by the Secret Service. (ETA: well, I'm pretty sure that I was)

Lance. I'm gonna say that 2 is the lie.

Correct. Lance has seen the running of "only" three Olympic torches. Two here in Denver - SLC and... can't remember the other. THE one I really remember is seeing Munich, 1972 while I was in Europe. What a thrill! (And my first.)

# 4 is close to a lie in that I've got only one porno DVD "under my belt." Yeah, yeah.... pun intended. LOL!

ETA: In retrospect, should have told the truth about torches, and said "more than one DVD." That would have been stronger, yes??

Yes.

Here are mine, much more mundane, but my life, until very recently, was very mundane.
1. Suze has never had a boyfriend.
2. Suze doesn't have a valid driver's license.
3. Suze doesn't own any clothes with velcro.
4. Suze doesn't like chinese food.

I didn't really think it was, it was too obvious. But for the life of me I couldn't figure out what meaning of brother you meant, so I figured I'd guess and so get the explanation.

My first thought was that number one was the lie because every lesbian I know or have known had one or two boyfriends early on because it was expected by society (they weren't yet ready to come out) or because they were struggling with their sexuality and tried to force themselfves to be "normal." But there are always exceptions you're just sassy enough to be one of them.

I think number three is true because velcro is tacky and I can believe number four because I'm not a big fan of Chinese food myself (I hatr water chestnuts).

So I'm going with number two at the lie. although I do know some adults who don't have driver's licences, it is not easy getting by without one.

1. TRUE: The painting of my niece in late pregnancy was done by one of the artists at the art center I work at. It is a very beautiful, very tasteful painting. Normally it hangs down the hall but that wall is being repainted so it has been temporarily hung in my office.

NOTE: As of this writing the painting is back in its original place so, technically, it is no longer true... but it was true at the time I wrote it.

2. FALSE: I am terrified of roller coasters. My first time on one was also my last time. If every one on CM were to go to six flags together and then decided to ride the roller coaster... well... Y'all can go right on ahead. I'll be sitting on the bench here, eating my cotton candy, and waiting to see if you guys survive the "terrible tracks of termination."

3. TRUE: The son-of-a-bitch is from the town just to the south of me. At the time (early 90's) I just thought he was your run of the mill nutcase (you meet a lot of those when you drive cab) but he made enough of an impression on me so that one day, when I picked up a newspaper and saw his photo, I though "HOLY SHIT!!!! I'VE HAD THAT NUTCASE IN MY CAB!!!!!

4. TRUE: Former President Bush (the elder) was stopping by a nearby town for some ribbon cutting ceremony. Never having seen a President (current or former) before, I thought, "what the hell?" and went to check it out. I pulled into a nearby parking lot and becasue it was a cold winter day I was wearing my hunting jacket and had my hands in my pockets. I walked by a vehical (an Oldsmobile, I think, or something of a similar type) two men in dark jackets and sunglasses got out and started following me. "Oh shit," I thought and then to let them know my peaceful intentions, I took my hands out of my pockets (see fellas, no weapons!). They slowed down a little but continued to follow me and hung around the edges of the crowd during the whole event.

LOL, you know what they say about trusting your gut? Well it would have been appropriate in this circumstance. #1 is the lie, I have had 2 boyfriends, though they weren't the guys I have had sex with. And around here that makes me the exception, among the three lezzes in this house I'm the only one who has had a boyfriend.
