Of course there is.

There is YOUR ideal; MY ideal; HIS ideal, HER ideal, etc, etc

If you read the op better, you would notice that he said

He was asking for the opinions of others, which is a lot different than making a statement of so called fact like you did.

I don't do contracts. That all seems a little Castle Realm to me. I prefer to learn about someone and the way they want me to behave as my part in a relationship.

This sub is nobody's fool. I wouldn't accept a collar without being sure about the Master, but if something changed and the relationship was no longer the same, I'd expect us to talk about it like adults. If that failed, then yes I would consider myself uncollared, regardless of whether he did or not.

...and back to Castle Realm.

Think less about 'worship' and more about love. Not just him/her loving you, but you loving him/her in return. That way you may eventually have a relationship built on love, respect and obedience.

Mt ideal Master is the one i am collared to. I mean that is my ideal everyones elses will be different. We have a contract but that was more for me when we first started out (over 5 years ago) It was to make me more comfortable He found one online and we re-worded it to fit us. Now it is a nice reminder of when we srarted out. We also have a safeword and i have only used it once in all the years we have been together.

If i ever decided i did not want to be collared to Master anymore (hard to think why) i would talk to him and tell him and the reason why. if he wanted to talk about it i would meet him to talk and return his collar. I would not beg to be released i would just release myself even though it would break my heart.
