Then you ask the court what they would have you do. Reschedule? Wait outside until called? What would please the court?

Oh, I agree with you, blushes. Which is what I would have done. That wasnt an option by the other poster though. The belief that a baby sitter can materialize out of thin air when you have a sick child... its just silly.

Actually, if my baby had an ear infection, or indeed was poorly at all, I wouldn't have gone to court.

If I had no-one to look after my baby at short notice, I would have stayed home.

While it may be possible to find someone given a sensible amount of notice, it's not always the case with little to none.

True. But the woman already had one failure to appear. A second probably would have landed her with a bench warrant.

We all do what we have to do.

This is unfortunate for her. ( I can't remember why she failed to appear before)

An ear infection here would mean a trip to the GP for antibiotics and would have produced a record of such which would be taken into consideration just as having a heart attack would be......:)

The Judge got upset because she was buttoning her shirt as she approached the bench. Not too sure he would have been any more understanding had she missed another court date for her child to see a Dr.

Oops, I left that issue out of my previous post. Always remember, girls and boys, put your clothes on before you approach the bench.
