DesFIP -> RE: Menopause and sex (11/16/2011 7:01:01 AM)

My sex drive disappeared for about two years. He got what he wanted but I couldn't orgasm. After that it recovered but not nearly to the way it was before. It's hard for me to have even 10 orgasms now whereas before it wasn't uncommon to have two or three dozen.

The worst is that it can stop in mid play for a trivial reason. Before if he had a rough nail I'd just tell him and he'd watch what he was doing. Now it kills the drive totally. Especially tough since he's a contractor and always has rough spots on his hands.

If the night sweats are a major pain and you can't take HRT, see if you can try a low dosage of SSRIs. They also work for this.

It would seem many appear to be placing way too much emphasis in their desire to be able to do, or make others do this, i.e., "My girl's squirt is bigger than your girl's squirt!" I would more prefer the journey be pleasureable and enjoyed, rather it being the end-all goal. With some, it is like a new found toy, and in over-using it, thinking it an indication of their skill, success, or sexual prowess.

However, that being said, I recently queried a Tantric Sex Practitioner about this, whose opinion was that the more sexually relaxed and "available" (with herself and others), and emotionally, mentally, and spiritually open a woman was, the more likely this might occur, and referred to it as the Goddess Nectar.

I started menopause earlier than some (40) and nothing has really changed w/me.  I've always been "moody" so no noticable difference[>:].
I never suffered from hot flashes, night sweats etc.  My sex drive hasn't changed.
I never took HRT even tho it was prescribed to me.

I LOVE being able to wear light colored pants any time of the month w/no worries!!![:D]

Lucky you, girl. Some have it easier than others.

I'm hoping mine will be as easy going as yours sounded. I do wonder if it's a myth that the more children you've had, the easier your body handles the menopause, though...
