Status: offline 		I started babysitting for the neighbors when I was 11. At the time, you could be underage and work at a library, and I did that. At 16, I was working in fast food. I didn't want to go straight into college, joined the military instead, went to school while enlisted, and wrung every cent out of the GI Bill. With the exception of one semester, I worked full time and went to school part time.

My sister did a little babysitting, but concentrated on school and after school, went to a good liberal arts college, and then a good law school. She worked like a dog for a private law firm initially, then at the DAs office where she was no longer expected to work 100 hours per week.

Our little brother, OTOH, has a much different work ethic, but does have a medically-based learning disorder and is mentally ill.

Sending tax dollars by local state and federal governments on infrastructure is fine but the obscene amount of tax dollars that have been squandered over the years and excessive entitlements we have obligated ourselves with is not.

It was a bipartisan blunder. It had its roots in the Clinton Administration and was passed during the GWB administration almost unanimously. But nobody has ever accused GWB of being a fiscal conservative.
