Status: offline 		I kind of agree with what some people are saying.  Very Jurassic Park feeling (regardless of whether or not the wooly mammoth is from that period of time).

Status: offline 		I remember a documentary about a baby mammoth that was found, and the scientists theorized that maybe someday someone could clone one. Interesting. ^_^ Maybe someday isn't so far off.
I don't imagine they'll be running wild, probably in zoos, if this is even successful.
Still, though, with so many animals in danger of habitat loss, bringing one back seems like it's a slight misplacement of energy... Let's stabilize the world we have NOW, and then worry about the past later.

Nahh, there's always somebody saying there's something more important stuff to be done. I'm pissed off about the space program being gutted- and people saying we can't feed everyone here on earth- why spend money in space? But dreams are important too, and being able to bring back a wooly mammoth is at least achievable- and the fun factor shouldn't be underrated. Science should be fun as well as useful- we need to teach kids that. So bringing back a wooly mammoth is on par with funding for the arts for me- it may not feed peoples bellies, but it's food for the soul, and that's important too.
