How do I figure out what size to wear in womens clothes. is there a converter chart or something?

This probably isn't the best place to ask those kinds of questions... find a crossdressing forum.

My personal suggestion though: try stuff on in person.

Go to a store and try stuff on.

FR

Here is a place to start.

Take your measurements and figure it out based on the charts here. Then depending on designer you may need to go up or down in size so you will have to try stuff on.

That would be my advice as well; try things on to see what fits you.

Women's clothes are far more difficult to comprehend than men's.  Have you ever noticed that 3 women who have very different body types can all wear the exact same size?  It makes no sense.  That's why I say that trying the clothes on is your best bet.

Women's sizing is all over the map, and no two companies will make a size the same as another company. Yes, it is very frustrating.

Compare your measurements to the size charts, give it a reasonable guess, then hit the charity shops. Pick up some things that seem likely, and what doesnt fit you can just donate again, with a smaller investment.

Men's and women's bodies are proportioned very differently, (duh!) and men's arms are much longer, so avoid long sleeves. Depending on whether you have a gut, you might want to avoid nipped in waists...

Also, see if you can make friends with a CD friendly woman. I love shopping and playing dressup, there's bound to be someone in your area who does too.

Have fun!

If you're anywhere between 37-30-39 and 72.5-66-74.5, that is a women's size 12 to 48, Woman Within has a size chart you can use. JC Penney's Size Charts has sizes between 31-23-33.5 (a size 0 or XS) and 59-55-61.55(a size 32 or 5X). I'm sure with those charts it will give you some idea of your size, but I would recommend actually trying things on to make sure they fit right.

~edited to add~ I don't know if this would work or not but, if you do have a belly on you, maybe maternity clothes would fit you better? They have some really cute stuff now, unlike when I was younger. lol

Stretchy types of knits and materials are more forgiving and don't need a perfect fit.

Lady Hibiscus has some great ideas, in my opinion! <smiles>

Okay Bobby, I would like to ask what is your motivation for wanting to get women's clothes?   Do you really have a desire to crossdress, or is it something being asked of you by someone else, or...what?
