i believe you have to go at least 2 times and purchase a "passport" plus the cost of the room. after you've been there 2 times the 3rd time you can petition to be a sublime lady. at that point you don't have to pay for the "passport" my friend just got back from there last week i think she paid like $288 for her passport plus the cost of the room per nite.

Sublime Lady's only pay like $1 or something for their passport afterwards and if you're staying to shoot video or photo shoots then your stay is free for the duration of the shoot.

I can't understand why anybody would place his(or her) body/life in someone elses hands without knowing what kind of person she (or he) is.

Yes, it does exist and it is mostly a Pro-Domme arena in a former Russian Republic. I would like to see a similiar thing happen in USA, only with a community where the power exchange is a loving and caring place. There is a Mistress Lisa in Naples Florida, trying to set up a Eco place, with Fem Domme tendancies, but She seems to be straying a bit.

I'd like to see something like the OWK in the states as well, or at least something inspired by it.

It seems to me that the main obstacle to such a thing happening is the idea that you need a piece of land for the project. That makes it very expensive and impractical, and vulnerable to harassment.

The alternative would be to think of the OWK as more of an attitude, or a state of mind, that exists when people get together and agree to behave in certain ways. Instead of having "an OWK" on a plot of land, we could have "OWK days" or "OWK weekends" in various places at various times. The idea would be to get together somewhere, anywhere we can, and live as if we were at the actual OWK in the Czech Republic.

Different groups could put them on and control them however they wanted -- they could decide what the rules would be, who would be allowed to come, how things would be paid for, and so on.

In a perfect world, these events would be almost like leather events or fetish parties -- things that happen from time to time, in various parts of the country.

I read that some women in Kansas City were planning on doing something similar to this, but I don't know if they did it, or how it turned out.

We have been trying to set up a bdsm resort in Florida for a number of years . The reason why a place like OWK will not work in the States, the growing intolerance of the alternative lifestyle. by a vocal minority.All though ours is not domme themed, it does not matter. I recently saw a gay lifestyles bed n breakfast  burned out of existence due to thier neighbors bogoted atitude. They were on over 60 acres and pretty private.The biggest obsticle we have faced is the nimbies making sure we never get permitted. Thier is the rising cost of land . The local moral minority using thier bigoted ideaology  to keep anything remotely coming to fruition. Last but not least a lack of the  local bdssm community wanting to get involved.  They like thngs the way they are,  fragmented. Not all living in the local bdsm community fall inot that category . Sorry about my rant.  So, my view it would take a very very serious commited group of individuals with alot of resources at thier disposal to make something like that happen here in the states. Just my humble opinion.  Take care be well

I was an online member, of OWK, for a few months, but, though I was stationed in Europe for 5.5 years (while in the USAF), I can't afford to visit the OWK personally.
 
Alternatively, I've come under pro-dommes (in the U.S.) who have replicated almost all of the fantasies I would have hoped to come under in the OWK.  There is only one fantasy left to replicate and I think that will happen also, in due course.

OWK, is suppose to have  their own form of goverment, which includes a set of laws, and an actual currency that is used there. While  OWK may not have representation in the United Nations, I am sure behind their walls, it may feel like a seperate world from where many people come from...

OWK is a large enclosed compound in a village in The Czech Republic. They have their own currency, visas for entry, and laws, yes. However, it is not recognized as a country or autonomous body at any level outside those who frequent it. It is no more a country than if you and I began to ask visas for entry into our respective homes.

I think it is best described with an analogy to the island in Exit to Eden or Fantasy Island. It is a place where one can live a reality different from that in the world while there. This reality is based on female supremacy. While I have not been to OWK, several of my friends have and I think it would make for a fun trip. I would not go there alone, and a domme friend who has been there advised the same. I regard it more as a commercial place for fantasy fulfillment than as a place that espouses a particular philosophy of life. I hear it can be somewhat desolate during some times of the year and relies mostly on visitors.

The website does give a very appealing and inviting impression, though i agree with Ms. Carameldomme, that one should go there preferably with a known Domme.

Personally, i have had it on my mind for quite sometime, to go there after marriage - for an ideal honeymoon. Hope all works out well, because that would indeed be a great way for my Queen and i to get to know each other better.

Just out of curiosity, would it not be more aptly named the Other World Queendom?

Yes it most certainly does exist because I have been and going again this September.

Lots of Mistresses go to OWK to make videos. The fact that you can video in a nice big outdoor space is wonderful.
Its best to go to OWK when they are having an event. If not you will find the place virtually empty.
They are restrictive on specific types of play though, so its best to do your homework before you book anything.

They wont let me in though, so I'll just have to hear the tales about it.
