Just came across this story, and it sounds to me like he was ordered to do this by his wife/Domme. Anyone have thoughts on this?

UNIONTOWN, Pa. -- Police have cited a man for disorderly conduct for allegedly chaining himself inside his car while parked outside a western Pennsylvania drug store and dressed as a woman.Uniontown police were called to a Walgreens store about 11:20 p.m. Sunday when someone reported seeing the 28-year-old man chained inside the car, according to Channel 11's news exchange partners at TribLIVE.When police arrived, the man told them he had restrained himself because he had come to buy his wife a drink at the store, but found it difficult to work up the courage to enter the store dressed as a woman. A police report said the suspect chained himself, "To build himself up to going into the store dressed like a woman."The man his charged with disorderly conduct "for causing a public alarm."

Reminds me of the time about 10 years ago that a small town cop from my county got arrested in a different city in the county for walking around dressed as a woman.  It was quite the scandal, back in the day.

Like I said....EVERY dom/domme should have to walk the other side before they take a submissive. This is a perfect example of what happens when the dom/domme doesn't have a clue...

I don't think the citation was for the cross dressing so much as the police having to be called because someone saw him handcuffed in his car.
"for causing a public alarm."

Interesting as i never would envision such a incident to be worthy of a citation. In not being able to open the original link i at first felt the officer to be overbearing in that no harm was done. Without the link, i instead envisioned and assumed. Thankfully i took time to do a search and find the article and to delete my previous thoughts. Indeed always good to have facts before assuming. Thank goodness such is my habit and thank goodness CM allows opportunity to edit post. lol

So the mere fact of people calling the police about you makes you a criminal? Is crossdressing and chaining yourself to a car a common sign of a terrorist and such he caused undue alarm? That he received any citation annoys me somewhat.

My emotions were similar. I felt the officer to be overbearing and the incident certainly not worthy of a citation. But in reading the article, i no longer feel as strong about it, in that this was the third time police addressed this individual with similar incidents. That makes for me that he was being a public nuisance and distraction of police resources in that when they receive a call they must respond.

Someone sees someone chained up inside a car at a public place, they are going to call the police believing the person is being held captive somehow.  His being dressed as a woman is really irrelevant to the citation.  It is his causing other people in a public place "undue alarm" thinking he was in need of assistance.

People need to learn that when engaging in their fetishes/kinks in public, that things like restraints are likely to cause people to think someone is being held captive against their will.

Cisgender people are silly about clothing.
There are days when i prefer wearing something short black and dead sexy
And there are days when I enjoy my leather jacket, gloves and a warm pair of pants.
.....
yay, i get to wear what i want, and ignore all the silly

Nowhere did it say the arrest was due to his clothing. Or are you saying that if you saw someone apparently chained to a car, you would think nothing of it? The fact that this is the third time they've had to deal with him being a public nuisance tells me that he enjoys the attention and chooses to do things that will bother onlookers and require police presence be diverted to him instead of keeping them available for real calls.

I suggest he should be fined several thousand dollars each time he does something stupid like this. Because he's wasting public funds on getting his exhibitionist needs met nonconsensually.

Pretty sure if I saw someone chained in a car, I would definitely ASK THEM if they were ok before calling in the police. It's not like there was someone else there with a gun to the guys head. Geesh

It happened in Western PA. I'm originally from W PA. It's a completely different world there and extremely conservative and old fashioned. The cross-dressing thing would have been enough for him to laughed at by the entire town and probably even given a warning for "public indecency". As for the chaining up, yes, they would have either arrested him or given him a fine for setting off alarms and for wasting the time of the police force for something undue and unnecessary. This is pretty typical of that area.

I can remember growing up there and when one crossdresser moved into the town and set up a flower shop, his/her shop was burned down to the ground and he/she was forced to move to the city.

Western Pa small towns do not take kindly to such things unfortunately.

I'm just trying to figure out how chaining myself up in the car would help me work up the nerve to go into a bar. That's the bit that's confusing me.

Having to work up the nerve, that's completely understandable. Sometimes I have to do that even when I'm not crossdressing. Though knowing someone was inside waiting for me would make it a lot easier.
