If you have not seen it there is a movie currently going around
about fasting.  Specifically it is the story of one sick man who
went on a long medically monitored juice fast.

Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead.

It worked spectacularly well for him.  But the
first few days were the worst!  He mostly just felt sick.

He is now promoting it for a lot of people and his
website has a lot of info.  No matter your choice, Good Luck!

I doubt this experience will kill me (but will it make me stronger?).  [

Going without food for a few days isn't a big deal for a healthy person. It's not going to make a big *difference*, either.

I know a three day juice fast is not going to be the end of my troubles.  I think part of the reason my trainer suggested it is psychological.  It may get my head in the game about being disciplined about what I eat.  I hope so, anyway.

Make sure you get real cranberry juice and NOT cranberry juice cocktail (cranberry juice blended with other fruit juices). It's really not as bad as you might think. FYI...cranberry juice is very good for the urinary system.

I would ask him WHY he is having you do this, what the particulars are with regard to his belief in this fast, and what his other clients have experienced in doing this type of fast, how many actually were able to do it and what benefit it had on them in the long run.  I would like to believe he has not only experienced it but you aren't his guinea pig lol.  At the very least it will educate you for future reference.

When i go cold turkey with caffine, i have to go cold turkey.  I am not a weener offer type personality.  If you do this, and drink a lot of coffee, i would do it over a weekend -- i.e. start on a Friday so you have the weekend to literally feel like crap and hopefully on Monday, you will get your second wind so to speak and start nurishing yourself so your side effects will be going away.

Usually, on the Atkins plan, you go cold turkey even if you aren't fasting you aren't plowing yourself with caffine, processed crap and sugar so you have major withdrawals and they usually go anywhere between 3-5 days before people are feeling better and get the energy back and feel good.

Good luck, i always think people who fast are better than i am lol as i don't have the discipline.
