I realized this happened over the summer, but I just saw it.

A tragedy, certainly, but also a WTF?  moment:

Flying bear kills two Canadians in freak accident
Wed Jun 8, 2011 11:10am EDT

OTTAWA (Reuters) - Two Canadians died instantly in a freak accident when a car hit a 440-pound (200-kg) black bear and sent the animal flying straight through the windshield of an oncoming vehicle, local media said Wednesday.

The bear's body hit the 25-year-old driver and a 40-year-old man sitting behind her and then shot out of the back window. The bear also died.

Commentary that was ... interesting ...

"We don't see (this) often ... That's really rare," local police spokesman Martin Fournel told the Canadian Broadcasting Corp.

No shit.

Your title made me think of the discussion that Randal and Dante have in Clerks about their flying car...

But damn. What a way to go. Still mauled by a bear...Is it kind of sad I also feel bad for the bear?

Ok, the accident is sad, but the "we don't see this very often" is cracking me up.

I've heard it's more common for them to get killed by car/moose accidents.

It seemed a lot funnier in the cartoon.
