That might be the truth, or simply them trying to reap what others have planted.

Quite honestly, there are compelling cases to be made for a couple of theories. My personal frontrunners are the Iranians themselves or the Israelis.

Since when did a blog written by an American citizen (born and bred in Hudson Valley), and presently based in Seattle where he writes said blog exclusively, become an "Israeli news outlet" or was the above just quoted in jest, seeing as American Free Press is a site that features a prolific amount of 9/11 Troofer material?

Their long history? There was the response to the massacre in Munich in '72 which has received a lot of publicity but Russia/USSR, the US and even Britain are old hands at the cloak and dagger assassination game.

We are going around in circles here. The point I made is that they don't appear to have a particularly long history of cloak and dagger assassination. I didn't try to make out that they couldn't be behind it but the US, and the surrounding Arab nations also have fairly strong motivations. Remember the attempted Iranian assassination of a Saudi Ambassador?

They have a long history of such assassinations going back to the early fifties. Even in the early sixties they were killing foreign scientists working in Egypt.

I would politefully suggest that such operations dating back to just after the State of Israel was founded, makes it as lengthy as one can get, given the relative historical timeline.

As for the US, I cant see Obama sanctioning this, given the situation in the Gulf. Propaganda wise, it would be Irans biggest coup.

Status: offline 		It goes back as far as the '30's Mr Polite. Menachim Begin was a member of a group that got very wet hitting British soldiers although for religous reasons they could only shot them in the back of the head.

Hagana I think they were called. Although the spelling sucks. Then we had the Sturm Gang over here at the same time.

I hadn't considered the assassination of two Egyptian military men in 1956 but this was at a time when Egypt was at an outright state of war with Israel, and was openly behind the launching of attacks by the Fedayeen into Israel from Gaza so it would be debated as to whether it is an assassination or what some call a targetted killing of a legitimate enemy military target during what was in essence a period of war. Within a day of Israel's foundation eight Arab countries declared war on it so if there were many killings at that time (I didn't seen any details of killings prior to the 1950's) aimed at these enemies then again it could be argued that it is a legitimate military target unless of course they were civilians.

Your justification for explaining away US involvement seems a little thin. Regardless of what the US do, Iran will always spin propaganda, e.g. drag a nearby yank before the courts as they have done a fair bit. Remember the drone Iran shot down recently? The event has been turned into a video game in Iran where players assemble it to use against the US.

MOSSAD is a spook organisation, and if they didn't do assassinations (which I'm afraid that they do, and have done for a long time) then they'd be pretty useless for protecting Israel's interests, wouldn't they?
