When I first went online this morning and saw "Welcome Back Kotter" under "Trending Searches" I knew that it most likely meant that someone had died (either that or was arrested... it usually comes down to one of those). I remember watching that show when I was a kid. Not counting Kotter's sexy wife, Epstien and Washington were always my favorite characters (I thought Vinnie was arrogant and Horshack was just annoying). Sixty is too young to die. Rest in peace Hegyes... and thanks for the laughs.
