I'd disagree, mostly cuz I know of several huge sites that are all artist based that have sign ins, and they all started somewhere ... just folks aren't used to interactive sites really yet in the BDSM realms, which was more what I was referring to. Considering that www.thefetishforums.com currently has 300+ members and is growing daily and it's not even 2 months old yet, I don't think the sign on is any issue at all, however, folks aren't all that active so that would be why I feel they are somewhat intimidated by the features that the members see. The artist site - www.kinkyartists.com - has only been up for a week and a day, and already has 70+ members, so again, I'd feel the sign in isn't the issue, I'm pretty sure it is more that folks aren't used to php sites and that it is OKAY to add into the site - that is almost unheard of in bdsm sites, that you can add stories, poems, art, links, reviews, news, directly into the site all on your own. Forums/message boards and chat rooms are about the extent that folks are used to that they can interact in. As for traffic, well both of the sites statistics are right there for all to see - in detail even - if they wish. I'll let the stats speak for themselves as to what kind of actual traffic the sites get. Considering that I don't really advertise it (outside of when I announced it's release in message boards for like 5 sites, and it's in my signature, and linked it in a few places) and have yet to actually start actively paying for advertising or throwing up banners everywhere - it's really not doing all that badly, especially since it's mostly word of mouth. Folks will get used to open resource sites ... eventually. Once that happens, the sites will really start to fulfill their potential. Until then I'll be patient, and wait. Most sites don't come into their own or hit their stride until the middle of their second year anyway. Thanks for the feedback though - I've just been finding that the sign in doesn't seem to be the obstacle. The folks that are interested - will do the log in. I have NO intention of leaving adult themed sites wide open to minors without *some* type of filtering process or ability to remove any minors that *do* get in - I'm pretty hardcore about doing my part to help parents keep their kids out of areas they don't belong. ~ShadeDiva
