I have dabbled in Collarme over the past few years but never really tried to communicate before, until now. I have sent out some messages but am currently 0-8. I don't think I said anything weird or aggressive, and I used correct grammar and spoke like a regular human being. I tried to be friendly with the words I chose, I am not upset that I haven't gotten any replies, I understand why people might not want to. I posted in the introduce yourself forum and got a bunch of replies pretty quickly. Am I doing something wrong? Should I just stick to the message boards as opposed to directly messaging?

In addition to the other suggestions, maybe also make sure that you fit what that person is looking for in the first place. I am very stingy about answering c-mails (except from people here on the boards). If someone writes to me from too far away, or out of my age range, or clearly didn't read my profile as to what I'm looking for, I normally don't care how polite he or she is, I will not respond.

(Unless I'm feeling in the mood to, which happens now and then, but as a general rule, no.)

I haven't used CM for anything other than casual entertainment and information for the past three months. Prior to that I had begun searching through the personals for a future sub, out of the 200 or so messages I sent, I got replies from about 40. Why the desparity? Well, about 100 of them were drive by accounts. In other words, they were accounts made by people who never came back to cm, or stayed for such a short period of time that they never read my message. Some were also sock puppets, additional accounts set up by a single user for varying reasons from scamming to spaming and so on. Of the replies I did recieve, about half were typed up in some broken bastardized mutation of english that was barely readable. The ones that had a sense of continuity were generally just looking for a sugar daddy or an "online" relationship. So finally we come to the final batch, the group that was coherent, reasonably articulate, and actually responded with more than "hi ". Of those messages, all but one turned into a flowing conversation with very interesting women who were intelligient and a genuinely enjoyable time sink. Using CM to meet people either online or in person is perfectly fine, but be aware that the search feature is not a laser guided missle. More like a hand grenade, you throw it out there and see what you hit. You will have more immediate results in the real world. As many have said allready, do not let cm be your only tool, try other dating sites fetish or non, get active in your local scene, and be vigilant. I suspect you will have more luck converting a civilian to the dark side than recruiting one out of the digital world. Good luck.
