PlayNWork -> Play N Work (2/3/2012 6:15:25 AM)

I know that this may seem a really different and it may be. Maybe I am a dreamer. I own a small company and I am looking for someone who knows there way around an office. Such has quick books, filing, writitng letters, and more. I am searching for someone who needs and wants a job, who is honest and caring. A real quality person. I WANT TO FIND A DOMME THAT WANTS TO WORK IN THIS POSITINON. WE WOULD HOLD OUT A VANILLA PERSONA DURING THE DAY. WHEN THE OTHERS IN THE OFFICE WOULD LEAVE THEN MISTRESS WOULD BE ABLE TO PUNISH AND TRAIN THE BOSS. Think about it. Work N Play. Play N work with your sub/slave at your side all day. With unseen signals we both would know who is in control...

Sounds like a pretty hot scenario you have playing out in your head.
However, as a businesswoman, several things would concern me.

Who currently takes care of the books now, and what would happen to their position
once you find a Domme to take over? Will there be a severance package for them?

Say this scenario turns sour after a month or so. Not only are you now in a position to
terminate her employment, but on what grounds? Dereliction of duty?
What if she tries to sue you for sexual harrassment.

Think with the big head!

Reality vs inurhead
That is all.

I meet all of these qualifications but alas, I am submissive and am in Massachusetts [&o]

Is boss willing to pay Mistress Dominatrix rates for after office hours?

Well good luck with that. There is a reason why work and play are most often separated, otherwise they tend to bleed into each other and muddy the waters. I can see a powderkeg situation here and wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole- there's too many unknowns.

You own this company, you hold control over her position. If she doesn't Domme you to your liking you can let her go. Plus, who knows if you'd really keep things separate? You might think you're being neutral during the day but people see and hear things. You'd take this chance with your livelihood that people would see what you were doing or catch on somehow and find it repugnant and take their business somewhere else? To me, the fact that you'd take a chance on destabilizing your source of income to get your kink fulfilled doesn't say much good about you. Sorry, not being mean, but if I were looking for stability in a job this wouldn't be it. It wouldn't benefit my resume any to go somewhere and work for a bit, and then have to find something else.

xssve -> RE: Play N Work (2/3/2012 8:11:37 AM)

I think the work play thing has changed somewhat since people started having to work 2 jobs and put in 80 hours a week.

I had a similar idea, except I was thinking of manufacturing toys and fetish gear and was looking for enterprising subs who were interested in being models/sales persons: sex is great but you have to make a living too.

Anyway, I did find somebody into toys who was at least within driving distance, and was in the first stages of negotiations when another guy swooped on her, so it goes.

Good luck with that. It didn't turn out to be quite as enticing a proposition as I thought it might be, but with the economy the way it is now, you might get some offers.

You shouldn't poop where you eat.

lizi -> RE: Play N Work (2/3/2012 9:44:05 AM)

OP, the fact that you would like to carry out this mixing of work and play says to me that you don't really have a good instinct on where to draw boundaries in that you're willing to risk the thing you survive on for sexual pleasure. Seems incredibly risky to me, doesn't say many good things about your business sense. Plus, I'd get tired of being around someone that much. Kink all day long with that person always attached to your immediate vicinity sounds like hell.

What, I have to go to the neighbor's now?
You know this is going to be very awkward right?
Right?

xssve -> RE: Play N Work (2/3/2012 9:53:04 AM)

Married people co-owning a business and working together, albeit in different capacities, is not at all uncommon around here, it's a Mormon thing maybe.

The OP is not talking about starting up a business with someone he knows.  He's talking about starting up a D/s relationship AND hiring someone he knows nothing about at the same time, and putting the unknown factor in a position above him at work.

xssve -> RE: Play N Work (2/3/2012 10:04:33 AM)

Well that's his problem. It would work with the right person, but the potential pitfalls are pretty obvious, and he probably doesn't stay in business by being completely stupid.

Typically however, one does start with one thing or the other.

I've talked to many people about working together while being married who said it was not a good idea and the experience wasn't good for their relationship. By contrast, I've never spoken to anyone who did it and said it worked out well. There seems to be too much time spent together and too much contact on frustrating things. I'm sure somewhere in the world there are people who make it happen, that however seems to be more rare and perhaps it works in businesses where the couple takes turns manning the helm rather than working side by side.

This guy is posting on a message board for a complete stranger as DS pointed out. It's nowhere near what you're saying with married people giving it a whirl. Completely different things and it seems like there is a big potential for problems.

xssve -> RE: Play N Work (2/3/2012 10:48:45 AM)

Isn't there always.

lizi -> RE: Play N Work (2/3/2012 11:03:33 AM)

Sometimes more than others. Would be rather silly to invite problems, might be smarter to try and avoid them.

BoxwineForBrunch -> RE: Play N Work (2/3/2012 1:13:16 PM)

sorry bro, but you can't get there until at least season 3.

season one opens with you fresh out of college, packing up your mustard yellow used volvo with all your possessions and driving down winding roads while tears for fears plays on the tape deck. you move into an upstairs apartment in the City with a sassy landlady downstairs and a hooker with a heart of gold across the hall from you. next day, you strut into the building you've leased Downtown with your hair slicked back and suspenders and horn rimmed glasses and start putting together a team. you're straight laced, all american and ambitious but you quickly discover that the people you hire for your business [note: figure out what sort of business later] are a bunch of zany misfits! halfway through season one is a big reveal during a phone call back at your apartment when it becomes clear to the viewers that your dad is the ceo of a huge corporate raiding firm but you want to keep that on the down-low and make it on your own. next episode a girl shows up. she's kind of a dreamy hippy girl who just finished journalism school and doesn't know what to do with herself so she's either going to paraguay to snap candid photos of octogenarian nazi scientists at resorts or maybe stick around town and work for you. it turns out HER dad is a corporate raider too!

in season two your company is getting off the ground, and after some mishaps with licenses and permits for whatever it is you make or sell, and a hilarious misstep with the irs (which hippy girl's dad secretly intercedes in) things are on track. you buy a bmw in a mid-season two part cliffhanger, and then you and the hippy chick begin hooking up on the sly. after a few too many white russians at tgif you head back to your apartment and totally do it. the next morning the hooker with the heart of gold [who is in contract negotiations with the studio, who will not be back next season] makes fun of you and reveals she always liked you. as the season winds down, hippy girl slowly turns into dragon lady and over the course of the last few episodes she gets a short haircut, buys some power suits, and gets one of those enormous cell phones. even though she remains deferential to you at the office, it is becoming clear to the viewer through hints and snippets of conversation that something Kinky is going on. one lingering shot in her closet during the season finale, when she hangs up her coat and the camera finds its way to a pair of boots with enormous spiked heels and a huge leather bullwhip (why be subtle, baby?) erases all doubt.

so by season three you can start in with your scenario, but it's going to take probably 25-27 episodes before you've earned the audiences's trust and affection enough to introduce a plot twist like that. by that time you've got the hooker leaving to have her own show, the landlady peddling psychic hotlines on late night television, half your original staff off pursuing movie careers and the female lead threatening to walk if SOMEONE WON'T GET HER A GODDAMN PERRIER AND POINTS ON SYNDICATION RIGHT NOW. i mean i guess you've got your work cut out for you.

xssve -> RE: Play N Work (2/3/2012 1:25:59 PM)

Not a bad pitch, although the chances are good you'll jump the shark in the middle of season 2 after the White Russian episode.

Might work on cable maybe, you could throw in some gratuitous nudie shots to keep the audience tuning in until you rebuild the tension.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Play N Work (2/3/2012 1:31:14 PM)

Not enough for a Showtime original, but I am thinking Starz will pick it up for midseason.

littlewonder -> RE: Play N Work (2/3/2012 1:37:30 PM)

oooohhhh boy do I see a trainwreck!!!
