Complete aside:  I don't think I've even seen a cougar in a zoo.  How dangerous are they?  I know that the smallest of the big cats - cheetahs, for instance, won't usually pick a fight with humans.  Will a cougar, if hungry, jump an adult human?  I wouldn't frigging need that on the way back from the pub.

I live in a state with cougars. They take small dogs, large dogs, and sometimes have attacked kids and even adults. Part of living in or near the wild.

Status: offline 		They are dangerous, and usually you don't see them unless they are stalking you.  They are pretty shy.  There have been several cases of people killed by cougar in the US in the last few years, as their habitat is being encroached upon.  They will definitely kill dogs.

Guns are very like attorneys, people don’t want the cost of retaining them, find reason to criticize and fault them until they need them. Then they want the most skilled and powerful representing them.

Some of us pay the cost and retain an attorney long before we need him or her. Arm our self and the women in our famlies with conceled weapons permits, practiced skill and powerful weapons to represent us also... should the need arise.

Yes, in 2004.  In Scotland it was banned in 2002.

Status: offline 		I am sure a lot of hunting hounds ended up at the animal shelter after fox hunting was banned.  I remember there being quite an outcry.

Yes, completely stupid and squalid exercise.  In the old days, anti-fox-hunters would sometimes spray the hunting areas with chemicals that'd make the dogs randy instead.  The dogs would become hippies instantly: 'make love, not war'.
