Ta Steve.  I've adapted that to make a joke about the UK's own Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg - in his case, 'a Liberal, a Green and a Tory'.

It sounds so cool when you English folks speak British.

Have you ever heard him speak? I did and it made me want to go straight and swim the pond just to meet him.

Would I be throwing a cold rag over this fun fest to suggest that any pres. who would have a platform of raising taxes on the poor, cutting taxes for the rich. (i.e., increase taxes on labor, reduce taxes on capital) among other policies...to wit:

...willing to start a war with Iran at the drop of a hat and may well...drop the hat and borrow 40% of the money to do it ?

...privatize soc. sec. ?

...believe abortion is a 'state' matter ? I wonder how he feels about slavery ?

...not re-instate the 'Equal time' requirement for broadcasters ?

...not reform Glass-Steagall ?

...cut safety-net programs to 'pay' for increasing defense spending.

...prohibit medical mary jane ?

...oppose federal funding of human embryo research ?

...supported the need for a stimulus...just not Obama's...i.e., campaigned against it since.

...Romney supported the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. However, in 2011, Romney reversed himself and repeated the charge after denying that he had ever said that Obama's actions had made the recession worse.

Then on February 3rd, 2012, he managed to take both sides of the issue on the same day.

...AND call the above moderate or liberal ?

He is first...a capitalist. That means even though totally disproved over 30-40 years, believes sincerely and greedily that capital is the essence, the food-stock and true basis of the economy (driving force) completely turning around the correct admonishment by Lincoln

..."Without labor, you have no capital."

Romney would be another face on 'Bush III' anything but liberal or moderate.

Yes you would. So why don't you run along and start your own thread. You can do all the right vs left bs you want and we won't have to see it.

I thought the Liberal Democrats had always been pretty much all things to everyone except when it came to Europe?

... the liberal says: "I'll have a drink, as long as someone else is buying!" The moderate tries to borrow $3 for the liberal's $6 drink from the conservative and the conservative realizes he doesn't have any money left so he goes home.

Peace and comfort,

Michael
