I read this whole thread, looked at the OP's profile, (you'll see me in your who viewed me section OP, btw).

I just have to add that aside from everything else that has been said here, one BIG, HUGE, red flag that I think was missed is that the OP's ONE and ONLY friend is a gay male. Add to this the naked pics, the toys and the posts on this and other threads...

I'm just sayin.

Word.

wannapleez -> RE: Female subs don't respond to messages on this site (2/22/2012 1:41:18 PM)

OK, crankiness, bitchiness, and over-generalization of the OP aside, I have a question that is somewhat related, and therefore probably address-able by those following this thread.

Now and then, I stumble on a profile picture that is just stunning. And maybe (for any number of reasons), there's not a match there, but I feel compelled to at least say "hello" and compliment her. I always phrase my note respectfully and try to keep it brief, so as not to bore someone who wouldn't be interested in me. Maybe something like:

quote:

Ma'am, I realize that I'm not what you are currently looking for, but I just wanted to say that I found your profile pictures absolutely stunning; particularly the 3rd one -- you have very arresting eyes.

Now this site lets us see if/when a message is read, so I know that it's not just an issue of a profile that was created and then abandoned. But I have received exactly one response to the many times that I have sent a message like that.

Would it kill the recipient to send back a "thank you"? Or even a "f*** you" (which is preferable to silence)?

"Given how gross your picture is, I am insulted that you found my pics attractive because you obviously have no taste in what formulates a good picture."

That's better than silence?

You send an email, ass to face and wonder why you don't get responses.. get a clue then you'll stand a better chance of getting responses.

Instead of bitching at the women, why don't you go bitch at the guys that respond to a "No, thank you" with name calling, diatribes and demands as to why. They're one of the primary reasons why women don't respond.

wannapleez -> RE: Female subs don't respond to messages on this site (2/22/2012 1:53:11 PM)

Um, Sparky, I don't send an email "ass to face".

That said, yeah, even your contrived response is preferable to silence.

I'm not a big fan of internet/texting slang and abbreviations, but sometimes it's appropriate:

OMG! Who said I was bitching?

Now your last sentence (separated from the assumption of what I really meant and the lumping me in with all the other guys), makes a lot of sense. So, in the event that I sent a note that didn't acknowledge that I wasn't expecting any kind of match, I can now understand the silence, as past track record would probably make the woman anticipate a bad reaction (incorrectly, in this case, but very understandable). Thank you for answering that portion of the question.

Still puzzled over silence when I do acknowledge. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

SorceressJ -> RE: Female subs don't respond to messages on this site (2/22/2012 2:03:09 PM)

We do not respond because we choose not to, for whatever reason(s) including but certainly not limited to lack of interest and perceived compatibility. That is and will remain each person's prerogative. No one owes you a response of any kind. In the end, it's that simple.

By the way, nice attitude. THAT should win lots of responses. Better than nothing though, right..? [8|]

SorceressJ -> RE: Female subs don't respond to messages on this site (2/22/2012 2:04:29 PM)

Wow, that was strange; a double-post. Not of course that if I'd left it that way it would have made any more of an impression, so here ::erase erase erase:: ..

Iamsemisweet -> RE: Female subs don't respond to messages on this site (2/22/2012 2:04:50 PM)

As I mentioned to the OP, I have my mail filters set up so that I don't even see messages from people out of my geographic area and age range.  I am sure I am not the only person who does that.  What exactly is it that you expect in terms of a response, anyway?

Even if I didn't have my email set up that way, I don't believe I "owe" anyone a response to an unsolicited email.  Nor do I believe, for example, that I am required to politely respond when some stranger starts talking to me in RL. I can't tell you how many times I have passed some guy in the street, and had him say to me "smile."  All I can ever think when someone does that is "fuck you."

I will say, though, wanna, that I would never, ever respond to someone who leads off with a picture of their butt crack.  Jesus, what is the point of that picture.  You surely don't believe that it is attractive, do you?

::shrug:: Remain clueless. No skin off my nose, but when someone opens up an email from you, your ass is right there, unavoidable to any seeing person. So, yes, you put your ASS right in the face of whomever you happen to be insulting thinking a woman wants to see that horrid visage.

Too bad so sad about your preferences. Like I said.. get a clue, maybe you'll get some responses. Don't get a clue, get used to being deaf. Got that "Sparky"?

I have no problem with choice, particularly when the reason is "lack of interest and perceived compatibility". I, however, did not realize that I was not permitted to ask opinions on what people might think that other reasons might be when I take the interest/compatibility issue off the table right away.

Stupid me, assuming that a forum was a place for conversation.

Sigh. I never said that anyone owed me anything. I only solicited opinion on why I wasn't receiving even the briefest of responses.

Again, stupid me, assuming that a forum was a place for conversation.

And you got opinions then got snarky. Reap, sow, dude. You're either a troll or an idiot.

Of course, those aren't mutally exclusive.

SorceressJ -> RE: Female subs don't respond to messages on this site (2/22/2012 2:18:32 PM)

The OP assumes incorrectly that this forum is a place for the cort of conversation where he receives only what he wants to hear, instead of what is.
We told him why he wasn't getting responses on the other side, but of course, we aren't telling him what he wants to hear, and so, the 'tude.

Errm... this is exactly what I thought... all the way down to the long drawn out dooooooood! hahaha

I'm sure that this question will somehow get twisted with further assumptions about me, but I'll ask it anyway.

If such a message (out of your geography or age range) was sent to you, would the sender merely see it as continuously "unread", or would it get marked as "read" even though it wasn't? Because, if it's the latter, that would further explain the non-responses - I think they're read, but they aren't really.

Iamsemisweet -> RE: Female subs don't respond to messages on this site (2/22/2012 2:23:11 PM)

No idea whether they show "read" or "unread".

But really, the most obvious answer to your question as to why they don't respond is just that they don't want to.  Why does it need to be any more complicated than that?

*sigh*

even if they read your message, if you're not in the parameters they have set, why would they answer? REF: the comment about diatribes.
