Aswad -> RE: How to make hard-to-obtain Sudafed from readily available street meth. (3/1/2012 12:13:05 PM)

While not recommended, meth and dex are effective decongestants in themselves, as well as pretty decent antiasthma drugs. Going back to the precursor will probably improve efficacy, and certainly reduce some of the side effects (while increasing others). However, the main problem is that street drugs have a tendency to contain impurities. Ironically, under Norwegian law, I can legally buy and possess meth in small quantities, but reverting it to the precursor would be a felony crime. I can also get it in minutes, whereas I would need hours to days to obtain Sudafed, despite having a doctor that knows I have zero propensity for abuse and no reservations about Rx'ing the most restricted drugs we have. Health, al-Aswad.
