What are conservatives going to do this year? Its going to be a tough choice bewteen the"Northeastern Liberal Flipping-Flopping Mormon" Romney vs the "Black Muslim in the White House" Obama. Both have voted for simliar bills like Healthcare reform.O,tough choice for those in the "Deep South" and hardcore "bible thumpers" too.Think about it,both Islam and Moronmism is a cult,so who are we going to vote for now. Some tough choices ahead.Maybe its best for conservatives to just sit this election out!!

Don't kid yourself. The conservatives will vote for Romney rather than Obama. The vote will count no less if they're holding their nose when they do it. The only issues are:

1. Will low enthusiasm dampen turnout?, and
2. Will a viable third party bid materialize?

I don't base my vote on the religion of the candidate, but if I find anyone who does, I will be sure to ask them for you. In the mean time go ahead and sit it out if that's what makes you happy. I doubt anyone will mind.

Thats okay,I certainly plan on voting this year.Since its clear Ron Paul won't be winning the Republican nomination this year, the Republicans have made my choice real easy.

Come to the South. You'll find a bunch of them. [8|]

1. Yes, but voter turnout will be lower for both parties, though I think the "get Obama out" Republican attitude will be stronger than the "Keep Romtorum out' attitude that the Democrats champion. True progressives should despise Obama for his trampling of civil liberties (extending Patriot Act/Gitmo, NDAA, "I don't support gay marriage," etc), his war expansion (Libya, Northern Wazirastan drone strikes, Yemen, Somalia, et.al.), and his failure to have any sort of backbone when it comes to standing tough on crucial progressive issues. Conservatives should despise Romtorum for supporting universal health care at a state level, right to work, voting for an increase in the debt ceiling, government expansion, flip-flopping, etc.

It's funny how both parties (and their supporters) are running on the slogan "Hey, I'm not that guy!"

2. Ron Paul could launch a third party bid, which would be VERY interesting, especially in the case of a brokered GOP convention. If no one has enough delegates, then Ron Paul could launch a third party bid and royally complicate things. I don't know how Ron Paul's delegate allocation would work should he switch parties mid-campaign, but I'd imagine those delegates would support him either way.

If he accumulates enough delegates to the point where those delegates are needed to put Romtorum over the top, then what happens if he says "No delegates?"

No delegate is bound to any candidate after the first ballot.

Ya know. . . I am not sure that there is enough hate in this thread. Perhaps we could step it up a bit.

At least the phrase, "Hatchett faced nutmeg dealer" has not been used. But I am sure you folks can find a way.

Leave Lincoln out of this.

Well they couldn't go with "hope and change" again. They used that one last time. This year the theme is "fear and loathing"

Hope?
