I live in the Ft. Lauderdale area and was wondering where to go to be tested for disease before playing/sex with a new partner? I met a submissive online and chatted with her for a week.  We met and played/had safe sex and later I found out that she had several lovers and was a bit more of a nympho than I was comfortable with.  I have a germ phobia but she looked clean and works in the medical field thought I thought she was a "safe choice".  I don't want to have sex upon meeting for the first time again and would feel more comfortable if my prospective partner and I got blood tests to assure that we, mostly she, were free of disease before we play.
Do I just take her to a local clinic?  Has anyone had any experience with this? Prior to this encounter, I was in a long term relationship and haven't had to worry about this issue before.

Where I live, one can go to the county Health Department for free, anonymous testing. They also offer the option of private, but non-anonymous testing with the results listed on paper. A nice thing to show a partner. It's pretty bumfuck here; there must an equivalent agency where you live offering such services. Bet it wouldn't take too many phone calls to find 'em.

My suggestion would be, BEFORE you play, discuss this with your potential playmate. Explain that one of your criteria is disease free and that you require recent proof of the absence of STDs. It's not that unusual of a request when body fluids are going to be exchanged.

Personally, I would not want to be taken to the MD or clinic by someone I don't really know that well. I would prefer to do that on my own.  I would also request a clean bill of health from you.

As DesertRat said, call your local dept. of Health. They will refer you to testing sites. You can also have your regular MD perfrom these tests for you. If you have a "city" hospital, they will also help you.

As for someone " looking clean" or having a certain profession/intelligence or any other intangible reason for being disease free....... well, you are old enough to know that is not very indicative of anything

Good luck.

Pooh nodded thoughtfully.
"It's the same thing," he said.
