Majik, Masters, and the slave connection

The application of majik within a M/s relationship

Standing in the light of the power one is trying to summon fills you with elation and a sense of marvel. What will confound the practitioner is the failure/success ratio when participating in a group majik. We can equate many failures to the following factors: ego, agenda, misunderstanding, and misinterpretation.

Ego: The egos of those aiding in the ritual can, and will, cause majikal failure. Often the cause is that those following the ritual/ceremony feel that they should be in a position of leadership or power. It is difficult to set aside the ego and submit to the neutral position of majikal vessel.

Agenda: The agenda of the attendants may be more selfish than what is conveyed. Time and time again people enter into a ritual/ceremony questing for a power, understanding, or majik that has eluded them and are working their own agenda to obtain that in the lead ritual/ceremony.

Misunderstanding: Clarity and communication are of the utmost importance. We cannot take it for granted that our first statement is understood. Repetition in stating our pursuits will help prevent misunderstandings.

Misinterpretation: Sadly as humans we spend about 80% of our time interpreting what we hear to apply it to how we want to perceive it. The way to elevate this is by taking what we have said and havening repeated to us as interpreted by the listener.

By working majik within the M/s lifestyle one can eliminate many of the above pitfalls. The solitary practitioner can have command over great power. However as history and life experience teaches the more people focused on the goal at hand can, and will, move mountains. Bearing that in mind we can look at the complications again as applied to the slave; ego, agenda, misunderstanding, and misinterpretation.

Ego: The slave has little or no ego and will pour his/her being into your working of majik.

Agenda: The slave’s agenda is your own.

Misunderstanding: A slave by his/her very nature is attentive and pays close attention to the details of your words. This goes to alleviate some worries of misunderstanding.

Misinterpretation: See above. Yet again you will need the event reiterated to you by the slave to insure the intent is clear.

The virtues of utilizing the wards of your M/s relationship in your majikal working are numerous. By understanding these virtues and applying them to our majikal endeavors we can surmount the inequities of failure and take our working to new heights.

Trust: Being fair and just to your ward establishes the trust you need. When a slave trusts you implicitly they empower you with faith and belief in your workings.

Commitment: The level of commitment surpasses that of traditional relationships and allows the Master to utilize the slave’s devotion 100% in your majikal ventures.

Loyalty: Understanding that a covens power is derived by its loyalty to the coven itself leads us to the proper conjecture that the loyalty of the M/s relationship will supersede the loyalty of a coven of individuals. With the slaves unquestionable loyalty our workings in the majikal realm will be met with success.

Honor: The honor and integrity of the slave in the M/s relationship has direct application in the working of majik. We must understand that our personal honor and integrity colors the majik that we can wield. The very honor and integrity of the slave will also color our workings.

Servility: The servility of the slave is a decisive factor in the workings of majik. If the slave takes his/her service to heart and has surrendered 100% of their being into your service it will have a decisive effect on your majikal workings.

Submission: The submission of a slave cannot be considered in any way, weakness. It takes a great deal of strength and character to submit. Just as the majikal worker has to submit to the power they are harnessing, it must be done without ego. That is the slave’s advantage when participating in your majikal working. They have submitted in life and can/will submit to your supernatural workings. If we look at the slave’s submission as a model for our submission in majikal working we can increase the success ratio of our working significantly.

By peopling our majikal circle with slave’s we can harness and call a power that would normally be unattainable, based on the above examples of failure.  A few things to bear in mind;

Dogma: Does the dogmatic belief work within the circle you are creating?

Karma: The karmic ramifications of our working and the understanding of the possible karmic reward/punishment by all attendees.

Theology: Is the theological system working on behalf of all involved?

Clarity: The understanding of the workings that you present to those involved.

Objective: The objective of the workings must be concise and clear to those involved.

I hope this helps clarify workings of majik within the M/s lifestyle and aids you in building a strong, safe, and successful circle to work within.

Given that I have had no dinner and am well into my second glass of wine (yes I am a cheap date) I will not make much sense if any. However, it positively amazes me that your brain works far too much like my own. I read and I think, hmmmmm. I almost have to wonder if you have read some of the same books and share some of the same beliefs.
Maybe I should go get my crystal from its cleansing spot to tuck under my pillow and escape into my dream travels.

My big ol crystal is on my desk and is daring you to dreamwalk over.

Ahhhhh, memories.

ownedgirlie -> RE: Majik and M/s D/s relationships (6/4/2006 7:51:07 PM)

I have no knowledge of majik, or what you mean by it actually, but your clarifications of Ego to Objective have become the standard in my relationship to my Master, without calling it majik or anything else.  The only real differences I see, is that our theological beliefs differ a bit, and reward and punishments in my case are not linked to Karma per se, rather they are linked to cause and effect.  I generally know what my behaviors will gain in return.  I say generally, because I have learned not to expect reward.  Reward is a gift, generously given, and if expected will only lead to problems and disappointmnet.

What you have described, outside of what I mentioned, is essentially my slavery as I know it, although I must confess my ignorance of majik or how and why it comes into play.  Google was not my friend, with this term.

Of course it's a post about Majik that has stirred Me from long-time lurking to a reply.

Shame you didn't go into the pre-ritual fun of raising energy, eh? [;)]

This was an article I wrote for a e-magazine for pagans/heathens/etc... who practiced M/s.

Welcome to the forums. I was mindful of content due to the array of spirituality on the site.

Thanks Loki for sharing this. It's guite a lot to mull over, as I don't have any experience with ritualized majik. I think in some ways what you are saying is that slaves make the best conduits for majik.

Wulfchyld -> RE: Majik and M/s D/s relationships (6/4/2006 10:10:59 PM)

They are more harmonious to the rite. Not saying that they are better or worse, but they’re more in tune to what you are conducting and since they are seeking your happiness the listed complications tend to fall away.

timeoutgurlie -> RE: Majik and M/s D/s relationships (6/4/2006 10:34:39 PM)

Strangely enough I was raised with majick in my life before ever realizing that M/s would come into it, so these ideas/beliefs were brought into my relationship by default.

Seems to compliment it nicely, too [:D][:D]

Wulfchyld -> RE: Majik and M/s D/s relationships (6/4/2006 10:46:11 PM)

Very cool timeoutgurlie, I am glad you can relate. The subscribers to the e-mag are very privet people and some practice more secretive or cultic majikal practices. I am glad you can relate to the post.

timeoutgurlie -> RE: Majik and M/s D/s relationships (6/4/2006 11:13:53 PM)

Yeah, funnily enough, being a 'witch' is about as frowned upon by society as being a 'sexual deviant'.  I'm not really surprised there's a link between the two, both are lifestyles that are focused on the inner power and the way we're all connected, IMO anyways.

Great choice of topic [:D]

Vendaval -> RE: Majik and M/s D/s relationships (6/4/2006 11:18:24 PM)

I have been pretty solitary in the past few years, only sharing Circles
with certain trusted friends.  Sometimes the path is best illuminated
by the lone candle, othertimes a blazing bonfire will do nicely.

Merry meet and merry part and merry meet again.

Hmmm.... you are getting very interesting.

Thanks for posting this.  Any chance you'd be interested in becoming involved in a Beltane event in the mid-atlantic region?

Should be, I put a spell on you.

((Kidding, of course, for anyone who thinks too hard about this kind of thing, most witches don't put spells on people))

Aw shucks... I can hope can't I?

Definitely!  Maybe if I get out my crystal balls I can read your mind [:)] lol
