I think the Justice meant what he said. Nothing more. Nothing less. I don't recall him saying anything like your response. I like what he said but you did a nice attempt at lib spin.

Game on

Then My advice to you is don't use words that you don't know the meaning of.

Nice try at intelligent spin. It didn't work.

Signed a Gun carrying, McCain Voting, Pro death penalty asshole who seems to be one of the only ones around with a brain.

Don't worry, I won't use that nickname they used up in Gorean so you don't have to trouble yourself to whine to the Mods [:D] .

If you don't know what big words like sovereign mean, don't use em. It makes you look terribly silly.

All that still does not change the fact that Justice Scalia meant what he said and he said nothing you posted. So, maybe you should take it up with the Justice. Besides, intelligent is just intelligent. Is attacking the messenger intelligent in your view?

There is another saying that I feel is appropriate, you should know it and where it came from. It starts like this: "Why do the heathen rage...".

Let me leave you with one more that seems to drive libs over the edge more so than normal and one not quite so ancient. Game On.

Have you considered the distinct possibility that Scalia was talking about the United States and his comment on sovereignty pertained to the U.S. having sovereignty but NOT protecting it's and Arizonas borders? I have. But nontheless, he suggests Arizona must exercise sovereignty and protect it's borders if the Federal Government (Obama) will not and in not protecting it's borders then the Federal Government cannot exercise sovereignty over Arizona and prevent Arizona from protecting it's people and it's borders.

If the Kenyan was a brit, he wouldn't have dissed the Queen and the head of her elected government the first time he was over here.
(Knobhead's got a chip on his shoulder about the British because his grandfather got his collar felt during the Mau Mau suppressions, it seems...)

Oh, COME ON... Can you even read????????

Here's what she actually said:
quote:

Actually, Obama is an American (natural born, at that) of Kenyan origin, not a Kenyan.

The sentence, even to someone with a grade school understanding of english doesn't mean he is of a foreign nationality. It doesn't even look credible twisting it that way. Not that it should matter much to you.

And you're right you couldn't qualify as a birther. Birther's rely on something more than hallucinations, they prefer forged documents and raising phony questions.

Oh, I don't know. Post # 3 perhaps?

You're absolutely right Sweet...

Regardless of where he was born his parents were both U S citizens that makes his natural born. This claim smacks of the claim that Rubio was born in Cuba even though his parents were U S citizens and had lived in U S for 19 years before he was born.

please cite the clause that states both parent s are to be citizens?

BamaD -> RE: AZ SB1070 to go before Supreme Court this week (4/26/2012 11:07:59 AM)

I only pointed out that they were both citizens for emphasis not because of an requirement that they both were.

Lucylastic -> RE: AZ SB1070 to go before Supreme Court this week (4/26/2012 11:13:25 AM)

Thankyou for clarifying.

Actually, his parents became citizens in 1975. He's still a natural born citizen because he was born on US soil.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marco_Rubio

"His parents were Cubans who had emigrated to the United States in 1956 and were later naturalized as U.S. citizens in 1975."

Am I understanding this correctly? The Federal government is going to court to affirm its right to NOT do its job?

When bleeding heart Liberals cry about how hard hearted conservatives are for thinking the immigration laws should be followed, how "humane" is it to the honest people waiting to legally enter the country? If we have 18% true unemployment now, what the hell do you think will happen if we allow MILLIONS more of unskilled people in? Oh, and lets vote for the dream act so they can all become citizens thus qualify for WELFARE! So unless you are a Doctor, Pharmacist or some big shot, what you will have left after taxes won't allow you to live too well. I wonder how you bleeding hearts will feel when it becomes necessary to take 50% of your working income to give to the other people who are enjoying welfare, subsidized housing, food stamps, etc. etc.

When it reaches the point where I have to give half of my income to someone sitting on their ass to get theirs, I will join the ass sitters. Any sane person will do the same, thus the income goes down each year. Basic lesson why socialism cannot work.

Perhaps if you were to acquaint yourself with the tenents of socialism you would be able to argue against them.
The above rant is misdirected. All of the ills you describe above are the direct result of capitalism.
Doctors and pharmacists are not big shots they seldom make more han a few hundred thousand a year. Subsidized housing is a scam by capitalist slumloards to filch taxpayers money for their substandard housing. Food stamps are a subsidy for agribiz (acher daniels midland...cargill etc.)to get the taxpayers to pay for food that they cold not sell.
You say you will join the wellfare line when your taxes reach 50%. So you are telling us that if you made a hundred million dollars a year and the govt took half leaving you only $50 million you would forego that and line up for food stamps and wellfare? What sane person would do that?

You have yet to see the birth certificate of any president.
If you have never asked to see aqny other president's birth certificate why do you want to see this presidents birth certificate? Is it because he is black? Is it because he attended a chistian church for many years where the preacher was openly critical of some of the governments policies?

For purely selfish reasons, I hope the SCOTUS slaps Arizona down.

A bass player friend from Taos, New Mexico, a 3rd generation American whose great-grandparents came from Mexico and who became U.S. citizens in 1901, ended up spending a weekend in jail in some one-horse town in Northern Arizona because, while fixing a flat tire, a local Barney Fife stopped, saw that he "looked Mexican" and locked him up because they wouldn't accept his New Mexico driver's license or his Social Security card as proof of his U. S. citizenship. He was taken into custody on a Friday night and was kept locked up until Monday morning when the feds from Immigration/Naturalization got him released.

I've turned down jobs in Arizona since then - and I won't go there unless I can walk the streets there like I do in the other 49 states and not have to "show my papers" to any hick cop who might think I'm not an American (people have often said I look Irish - and there's a lot of illegal Irish in the U. S., particularly in New York City, Chicago and Boston. I wouldn't want some Arizona Dudley Do-Right locking me up as an illegal Irish immigrant).

For purely U.S. Constitution/State's Rights reasons, I hope the SCOTUS slaps Obama's DoJ down.

"You cannot please all of the people all of the time."

I am sure you are aware that robbing banks is a federal offense and that any city policeman or private citizen may arrest that bank robber without seeking federal authority to do so.
Likewise hiring those who have crossed the boarder illegally is a federal offense(punishable by five yars in federal prison with no parole an $250,000 fine for each alien employed who crossed the boarder illegally). Do you believe that if the board of directors of wallmart went to the slam for a hundred years and got a $25 million dollar fine that other employers would soon begin to follow the law? I am pretty sure that the feds have a bounty on federal criminals. Someone who truley wanted to end illegal immigration and make a ton of money would only have to arrest a few of the larger employers to accomplish their goal...of course if bigotry is ones goal then this would not have the same effect as busting people for being brown in public.
