Hi, I'm seeking a Lifestyle-friendly PCP in/around the Lewiston/Portland area of Maine. (Mine retired....)

However, I also think that it would be helpful if other areas could be posted as well.

If anyone is looking for a Lifestyle-friendly therapist in the Lewiston/Auburn area, please let me know.

Thank you. Unfortunately my saved URLs are primarily west coast based. Out here for school.

Lifestyle PCPs are difficult to come by here apparently.... I walked into an office with shallow knife marks. That was great fun..... And that was just the visible.

Coming for a very rural place I can understand the issues you have had. I had a sub fall (on me) and break my nose and two of my fingers at one point. While living someplace where the neighbors had already called the law do to "odd" noises and what they thought was the sound of domestic violence. I quickly found that it was easier for me to educate my doctor than it was to try to find someone that already knew. Later when the sub needed a doctor it was much easier to take him to mine.

I think sometimes if you do screening and ask if they are comfortable with GLBT that it can sometimes translate into accepting of alternative lifestyles.

Most doctors have seen everything imaginable during their training. And will understand that although they don't see the appeal of what you're doing, as long as you're confident when you explain that it was fun, and you're hoping to do it again real soon, that it is consensual.

It's when you're nervous and uncomfortable that they're going to suspect abuse, because that's how abused patients act.

Part of the problem lies in there not being a strong GLBT community here. Gay marriage was passed and repealed. Another problem is that I'm studying forensic science.

So in addition to the standard problems kinksters face of loosing kids (which I don't have) and being ostracized by the community, my health records will be taken by the state and used in pre-employment review. I will end up in front of three separate five person review panels. The wrong doctor can break my career. In a large city with a scene, that would be fine. But Maine is very underdeveloped in social areas as well as industrial. So....

Thank you for the advice and help. It is truly appreciated.

Thank you. Actually, I just realized that for both insurance purposes and Sen. Collin's proposed allowance to give employers the right to dictate health care make civil servants particularly vulnerable.

It's the same with the Axis 1 - 5 psych evals.... So really, thank you everyone. I'm not sure how much is needed for the local PD's volunteer unit, but I'd like to have my ducks in a row before I tackle this monster.

I also have some Trans friends who will thank you by proxy. I have a habit of being a resource guide when I can. Makes a stronger community in all ways.
