I was pretty sad to see that Sub-Shop has decided to cease operations. While the quality has changed over the years, it still was a special place that probably influenced a lot of bondage lovers over the years. It was still one of the most convenient places to find cute colored items. :) Most items are not discounted much at the current time, but that may change as months go on and they are liquidating inventory. It might be a good place to keep an eye on for some deals. Or for us, there are a couple items we'd been waiting to purchase, but might need to bite-the-bullet sooner than we thought.

Anyway...just sort of an FYI for anyone who might be interested.

I was really sad back when they switched to the same chinese junk that you can get elsewhere for a fraction of the price.

My feelings about them going out of business now on the other hand are cool one less junk shop.

Obviously that was really frustrating, but I don't think 100% of their items are those chinese-made ones, right? I still find some items that appear to be unique to their store (which range in quality).

Was meaning to buy some stuff since I'm pretty lacking in my own restraints and such. After ordering a few things, I feel kind of bad they're going away too; it seems like they put some effort into putting some personality into the site.

No idea, the last time I ordered from them it was a couple of armbinders. What I got matched neither the pictures nor the description of what I'd ordered, so they do bait and switch products.

That's a shame, I always used to browse through their site and found the range brilliant, long before I found the UK scene... Never ordered but was always a 'one day' kind of thing

It's a shame to see it go. I bought some of my first bondage gear there 14 or so years ago.

I actually just ordered a couple ball gags (under 10 dollars) and sex cuffs and am really impressed for the price.

I'm not unhappy at all... ordered a couple of times and the items were unusable. Good riddance.

Overall it's not good for the community.

Anyone recommend a different site to buy, at least "decent" quality gear ?

I discovered subshop.com just before they swichen to the chinese gear and I got burned (literlly) by the funky 2" ball gag I bought from they towards the end of their operations. Luckily (and more locally) I found a 2"er up at Spartacus in Portland and no burning or funky taste!
