Hayride888 -> Shelf bra (5/4/2012 8:16:43 AM)

I am wondering about shelf bras and how many subs wear them. How do they feel or are worth it.

What, like the kind that come built into cami shirts? A lot of women wear them, subs and otherwise. IMO, they're nice to wear to bed, but not very supportive.

I am talking about a bra that is only 1/4 cup and woren under shirts.

I thought shelf bras don't cover the nipple area. For me, they work fine as lingerie for play, but not so practical for day-to-day under my regular clothing.

They don't work with large breasts unless they're fake.

According to google images, you're both right:

I would not call any of those except the camis a shelf bra. Shelf bra is the piece of elastic underneath a bra-like thing, they have them in swimsuits too. Just holds up the girls so they don't yanno... plummet. [;)]

If you are planning on a DEMI bra or something similar, bring the stuff you are going to wear OVER it into the dressing room with you. I got a wonderbra to wear on a date, and I couldnt get my dress buttoned over it!

Okay, maybe the original poster can clarify what she meant. When I have purchased shelf bras (and they are labeled as such) they exposed part of my breasts and nipples (and are intended to do so - and certainly if sized properly work just fine with my breasts).

Just going by the labels the manufacturers and retailers are using. Not a name I came up with for these.

Okay, I guess people mean something like this

to which I would say, yes I own them, wear them, they are comfortable, and worth the money (I've just never heard them called that before). So funny, but not at all what I had in mind when I read the term "shelf-bra". [&:]

i own a couple, i like them because they lift my breasts but yet my nipples are still exposed and can be seen easily through my clothes which Master likes.

I just clicked the link because it said, "Shelf bra".

They call them shelf bras in just about every shop I have seen them online.
I wear them. They lift and allow a bit of nipple showing on top. :) works for me because I am not large busted.
