I have a consultation this evening and if all goes well I'll probably be getting it done by this week or next and let ya all know how it went. I was hoping to get some info from my primary doctor yesterday when I saw her but being she doesn't do plastic surgery or anything like that, she had never heard of it. She just shook her head and said "you don't need it, but if it makes you happy...". LOL. She's young, like 28-30, and has never had children and she doesn't have that little pooch in the front since she's a skinny minny, so I don't think she quite gets it. heh

If the specialist says you don't need it, then I would listen, but I often think that cosmetic surgery is much more about boosting somebody's confidence than the actual results, had a friend that was flat as a board, seriously like a man's chest just less hairy, she was so unhappy with it, she got B cups and stopped wearing padded bras, nobody noticed that she had surgery because she always wore padded bras before, but she just blossomed after the surgery because she simply was so much more happy with herself!

Exactly. I know I don't NEED it but it's something that's bothered me ever since I had my daughter, and I know no one else might notice but I do. It's just these little things that give me a boost.

So I got my consultation tonight. I have an appt on the 22nd to have abdomen, flanks and love handles lipoed. YAY! I can't wait. I have to go and get blood tests done next week before so they can make sure all is fine. Doctor said I'm a perfect candidate because I'm small and I don't have any loose skin. Basically he's going to simply be sculpting me to give me more shape.

And did you know that green tea is a blood thinner? I never knew that until now! They gave me a list of things I can't have for the next two weeks, like aspirin and stuff like that which I know is par for the course but they also said no green tea so I asked them why. Weird. It sucks because Master won't allow me any caffeine at all because of my insomnia so I started drinking more green tea and now I can't even drink that for the next two weeks!!! UUGGHHH

No wonder I'm cranky lately.

I always thought green tea is also a stimulant, I regularly supplement it for coffee as otherwise my caffeine addiction would interfere with my health regime (I can suck down double espressos like no tomorrow), but you may want to try ginger tea with honey as a supplement. The ginger also acts as a bit of a stimulant, in case they allow you that...

I do like the idea of having the body sculpted like that, I got quite strong legs (kickboxing and inline skating are responsible for that) and would just love to have nice skinny legs (like the leg Angelina Jolie flashed at the Oscars), but oh well...

Yes, green tea is yummy, but has caffeine.

Littlewonder - I'm having a small cosmetic procedure too in 2 weeks and was also given the same list of things "You Must Not Take". I was pretty surprised too! (And I'm a nurse. I thought I knew what thinned the blood!)

Best of luck! How exciting. And I am in total agreeance... it's doing things like this that help build your confidance and let you be more comfortable in your own skin. That's what I said to my surgeon and she she said thats exactly the right attitude to have (as opposed to "I want to look like so-and-so").

Ok, time for an update on my surgery that I had yesterday morning.

So I went to the surgical center at 10am and prepared me just like they normally do for surgery....put gown on, put in iv, etc, give me knockout pills and stuff, etc....

So I'm laying there waiting to be rolled in.........after that....... I remember NOTHING!!!

11pm last night Master got home from work and lying in my bed and I'm panicking thinking I was dreaming going to the hospital and that I needed to rush to the to the doctor.

Master's standing there with meds for me to take. I try to get out of bed and that's when I realize I had the surgery lol. The pain hit me and the drowsiness really hit me.

I ask him what time it is because at this point I'm completely disoriented and confused.

Master starts explaining that they rolled me out and I wouldn't wake up ( I only had local anesthesia) but he brought they dressed me, gave him my stuff, handed me over and brought me home. He said I was still in a coma like state and he was starting to worry but figured he'd give me a couple more hours. Still no idea where I was, still fast asleep.

So no pain! If I did I don't remember it. hahahaha. I'm still having trouble comprehending it all and I'm still kinda fuzzy. I am having a really difficult time typing right now. My fingers are shaking and I can't remember where some of the keys are. UGH. Hopefully this all wears off by tomorrow.

Anyway, since I've been up for the day, I've had very little pain. I haven't had to take the pain meds they gave me. The only time it really hurts is going from sitting to standing and vice versa.Other than that, yeah, nothing, nada.

As to what I look like? I have no idea. I have to keep the bandages and waist suit on until Saturday and no showers until Saturday. that just succccckkkkksss! And I'm only allowed limited walking outside. So Master said I can go out if I walk slow and I don't walk too far. Yay. At least I can get some fresh air to clear my head.

OMG, I can't remember how to spell! I've been using spellcheck soooo much just for this. I never have to use spellcheck.

At least my insomnia is gone for awhile lol.

aawww...poor kitty.

So I took the binder and bandages off just a little bit ago. There's still a lot of swelling but surprisingly no bruises and it looks pretty good even with swelling. I can't wait to see what it look like in about a month to 3 months. OOhhh....and the itching is driving me insane!! I keep wanting to stick something down in the binder just to scratch it all lol. And there's some numbed areas too which I'm sure will wear off eventually.

I wanted to start a detox diet tomorrow but Master won't let me. :( He said I need to ask the Dr first. Sigh. I wanted to start getting rid of the toxins first in my body so I can go back to eating a healthier and leaner diet, not that I don't already but I wanted to start out fresh yanno? I want this to be the stepping stone for a healthier life for me and for him.

So when the swelling goes down I will post for ya all a before and after photo.
Master may be right (of course) about me wanting more hehe...hhmm...maybe the thighs next or some botox.

Well, I'm doing well I guess. I still have a lot of swelling which I'm starting to be concerned about. I know they say it can take at least 3 months for most of the swelling to go away but at 2 weeks I thought I wouldn't still look like I'm pregnant.

Otherwise I'm not really in much pain except when I bend over but even that is becoming less and less. And I'm still wearing the binder like I'm supposed to and I was given diuretics to help the swelling go down faster but imo it doesn't seem to work at all.

That's the only thing about lipo...it takes a very long time to see the end results. I think I'm going to call the doc next Monday to ask about the swelling.
