Incorrect. Your womb references are not germane.

Incorrect. Your post is nonsense.

In a theocracy I thnk this discussion would be relevant. in a secular republic aren't religous beliefs a personal matter and the basis for personal belief not public policy? If we are going to start quoting the bible as a justification or as an excuse or as a reson to discriminate we are going to have the type of civilized society that existed when it was written aren't we? Do we really want to be part of a Iron ager middle eastern theocracy?

There are many in this country and apparently several on this board who wish for exactly that.

They are entertaining sshhhhh. I love the contradictions. I love the dehumanizibg caricatures ofthose he disagrees with, I love the name calling and insults, I love the reliance of the most skewed biased sourcing available, I love the denial of facts, I love how he squirms to maintain his close minded world view when you create cognitive dissonance with real facts, I love how he dismisses those facts with the use of "libtard". It's performance art he's a liberal playing a caricature of a conservatie. Once you realize that it's entertaining

From both the OP and YOU -- that is, unless you think your mother was just a prop, and you were born from "dust", as opposed to woman?!! [8|]

I think that souls don't exist on account of both the zero actual evidence for them and because of all the evidence of what actually animates us. As such scriptural passages on biology tend to read as hilariously dumb.

However, that doesn't mean they don't warrant discussion, there's a large contingent on the pro-life side that doesn't understand biology, history and so on. But they think that's ok because they have this one book that explains everything. It's sometimes worth taking the time to stop and explain that they don't even understand that book.

He may just be getting hot under the collar that atheists know more about the Bible, think about how frustrating that must be.

And even more infuriating, quoting it back to us is useless, it has even less effect than quoting Sesame Street.

Ah yes...the genius who figured out you don't actually NEED the funding--just quadruple the national debt, change the largest creditor nation in the world to the largest debtor nation in the world, and transfer ownership of 25% of U.S. assets to foreign investors, all during your eight years of administration. That's showing 'em how it's done!

Even his own economic people admitted their policies were a failure. And the right has been praising those same policies ever since.

As Cheney touted, "Ronald Reagen proved deficits don't matter."

We're living in why they do.

Of course you don't, as Libs are soulless -- but your projecting your empty selves on others doesn't make it so.

Most atheists I know , know and understand the bible only too well, which is WHY they became atheists.
Of course I am not saying that its the same for all atheists/agnostics or that there arent people of faith, who "know the book" without delving into the "theology, philosophy and dogma"
thats my disclaimer and Im sticking to it.

vincentML -> RE: Life does not begin at Fertilization or conception - says the Holy Bible (5/12/2012 12:24:06 PM)

The problem with the OP is that Fightdirecto gives his own definition of "breath of life." He talks about it as the act of breathing air into the lungs. But many Christians apparently believe that the "breath of life" refers to the Soul. Their objection to abortion is that no one knows for certain when the Soul ~the essence of the person~ enters the body. A careful reading of the citation will show there is wide disagreement about the definition. The OP's cherry picked premises are just too simplistic for the question he raises. Just my [sm=2cents.gif]

I was an atheist until I saw your avatar. Now, I'm a believer. Sorry. I just couldn't resist. [:D]
