I'm looking for a leather or latex hood that prevents sight but can be slept in easily. I'm afraid that open-mouth hoods may generate too much tension on the jaw, so I'm looking for something that leaves most of the lower face uncovered. Any recommendations?

Hangman's style hood maybe? I'd personally be wary of sleeping in latex, the build up of sweat can really irritate the skin (I do suffer from eczema though and the skin around my eyes is ultra sensitive so this may not be an issue for you) A fabric hood may be a better way to go

I'll second avoiding latex. Unless the the parties involved already knows what it feels like/is used to wearing it for long periods it's probably going to be a problem trying to wear it while sleeping.
