very new to the scene but been curious for years, finally took the plunge. any way how do I proceed, I want to experiance as much as possible, safely of course. how do I meet like minded people/playmates.

Go to a munch in your area. It's the best place to start meeting like minded people. Best of luck.

Pretty much like everyone said; get in touch with your local community and go to munches, meet and greets, and educational what have you's. Try checking out yahoo or google groups for your area. Also fetlife has a bunch of local groups (I swear some mod is going to yank my postings for telling peeps about them . . . . wish they did local forum /groups here).
