It's unfortuntate. I used to post to these boards daily, past tense. I thought this was a great way to exchange information, learn, help newbies become comfortable, and allow the expereinced to share. These boards have become mindless arguing and senseless jokes. It doesn't matter whether I agree or disagree, it matters if I don't understand to ask questions. These boards have become like junior high, you're wrong, no you're wrong, no you're wrong, no you're wrong. I'm not looking to argue, I don't care how smart you think you are. I care about how you arrived at your conclusion, can I possibly open my mind wide enough to understand, and can I possibly shut up long enough to listen. And who knows, maybe I'll learn something. These posts are really becoming disappointing to what I had expected.

I dont know what you mean. I know that I have a BLACK MASTER and that means he is an African American. His being Black makes it more exciting to me. We also scene with other subs in the Atlanta area or those who come here. Many women find Black men more Dominant as I do.

To the original poster...I am not sure what you mean either.  I have never heard of a specific type of D/s where the masters were referred to as "black" masters where the term "black" designated them as practicing a different type of D/s.

In reply to you, girl...~shrugs~...we're all entitled to our own opinion.  Seems to me like a certain expression of your beliefs were shot down in another thread as being racially prejudiced in their context.  I'd be willing to believe that there might be a few white/brown/yellow dominants who could "outdominant" your dominant.  But there again...D/s isn't a "pissing" contest.

MOO, YMMV

Guess, I totally missed being "shot down", but if you think I was, it says much.

What does it say?  That, in my opinion, there were just as many people, if not more, who disagreed with your viewpoint that "Black men are superior to white men" as there were who agreed with that statement of belief alone?  That's all it says.  For those who want to check, I refer you to wildfleurs' comment, Tolerable Cruelty's comment, meatcleaver's comment, and others.

Now, I could turn around and say that if you think that my thinking that says much, then your thinking says much about you...but that would turn this into a pissing contest...and it isn't.  Besides that, it directs attention away from the point being made...a tactic used by those who do not like it when someone disagrees with their statements.

I RARELY ever get a message from a black sub, but when I do, I'm EXCITED!  I don't care about preference, I ony hope people do not seek out others because they view them as better.
Most white men who contact me express an interest in serving a black woman. I just hate the ones who want me to call out racial slurs.

I am also becoming disgusted with the message boards.  Just as fldrkhorse state, this place is full of 'junior high' idiots.  People should be able to sttae their opinons TO THE QUESTION! The one liner jokes are tiresome, and the stupid bickering is ridiculous.  I must admit there was one member who put rap and blackness together.  I am black and I can't stand the most of it.  There are some positive rap songs.

I hope you're not alluding to my behavior when you say we're acting like babies , but if you are, I promise to shut up more and read what you have to say since I did enjoy reading and learning from your posts when you were around.   M

I so agree with you here. It gets to the point I don't care if I get here at all lately. I use to sign on and come straight to this board... now when I sign on... I go to polls and random... off topics... humor... they're just a little more interesting lately.

*smiles softly*

With human beings being human beings, having been raised by other human beings, and interacting with human beings, race will often be an "issue" for many people, at least for the forseeable future of the human race.

People, on the whole, are taught to distrust and be afraid of those who are "different".  Most of us were brought up with comments from our parents like "don't talk to _them_, they aren't _like_us_..." regarding any number of differences like race, sex, sexual orientation, religious beliefs.  Skin color/ethnicity is just the most obvious and easily identified difference.

INDIVIDUALS on the other hand, can be very tolerant, open minded, and accepting of differences.

In the US, race relations are far from perfect.  Our politcal and religious leaders often have a vested interest in keeping racism and bigotry, hatred and fear, alive and well and flourishing.  After all, playing up those fears is how they maintain their own personal power.  They just do a good job of keeping the pot from boiling over.  And as bad as our culture is at accepting diversity, it's still a damn sight better than what goes on in many corners of the world:

Up until very recently, Catholics and Protestants (overwhelmingly white) were blowing each other up and sniping at each other almost daily in Northern Ireland...

Bosnians and Serbians have been duking it out in the Balkans ever since the dissolution of Yugoslavia (which, under Tito, was actually a _relatively_bright_ spot in the Communist bloc).

Our Arab neighbors have been killing each other over their Shiite or Sunni beliefs and political power since many Arab nations have finally accepted the idea that Israel will not go away or be conquered by force of arms in the forseeable future.

Somali tribesman have been fighting one another over control of that nation in a civil war that is drawn along tribal lines along with animist, various Christian AND Islamic beliefs...

*shakes his head sadly*  People are people.  We will almost always find an excuse, a justification, for our hate.  Hate for different skin color.  Hate for different religious beliefs.  Hate for different political convictions.  Hate for different music.  Hate for different sexes.  Hate for sexual orientations.

I was a cop for 17 years, and if the worst racism or bigotry I ever have to deal with again is someone dissing rap music, I will count that as a blessing.  I don't want to ever again have to deal with someone burning down a neighborhood church, or blowing up a synagogue, or crashing a plane into a building, or dragging a man behind a pickup truck, or beating a woman to death because she identifies as a male.

_I_ try to live by the maxim that Dr. Martin Luther King espoused, to judge others by the content of their character, not the color of their skin.  I would hope that those I chose to associate with would try to live by that as well.  But I am also enough of a realist to know that reality falls far short of the ideal.

As others have pointed out, the real hue and cry has been over inter-racial relationships.  No one gives a rat's rear end when "kind mingles with kind".  But when you start listing an inter-racial preference?  OMG, the solid fecal matter impacts the rotary oscillating air circulation device... Some battles have been won, some have been lost, and the war against bigotry, prejudice and hatred is far, FAR from over.

YIK,
- Geoff

well put.  alas...i've given up which is why i haven't posted in a while until recently.  perceptions and misinterpretation often twist the original meaning behind a message.  can't change the way people percieve and then interpret things. "peoples is peoples" as they say in The Muppets Take Manhattan.

Where I a black man, I would be very torn by what I see looking at those ads where white women are seeking black masters.  On one hand, the vast majority of the ads have objectified the requirement for blackness to the point where a black man or my black lab would fill the same requirement.  On the other hand, how bothered could a man be, getting all that interest?
