Ushers stepson declared braindead after accident on Lake Lanier

3 dead at a lake near me within a couple of weeks.

Status: offline 		That's tragic. There haven't been any local
incidents that I'm aware of but we've got
a lot of summer ahead of us.

I avoid going out on the water during
the summer because of drunken idiots.
There have been various incidents with
people on jet skis locally over the last
few years, drownings and collisions.
I'm surprised they haven't killed or
injured more innocent bystanders
given the reckless way some behave
on the things.
Drinking and boating is a crappy
combination.

Status: offline 		Around here. 2 boys electrocuted while swimming between houseboats, father and son drown near the appalachian trail and 3 other drownings.
Another near miss when a fisherman got caught in rising water when the hydro turned on. He was floating face down in the river and 2 other fishermen went after him and pulled him out,
Got him breathing again, waited for the paramedics and left before anyone could get their name.

The the boys being electrocuted
sounds especially grisly.

I fully expect between the lakes
and the river there will be fatalities
as the summer rolls out. It seems
so often the victims are young males.
