Dunamis2009 -> Yet ANOTHER yet another anal question. (7/9/2012 8:22:28 PM)

As a dom, anal really turns me on. Specifically, I want to try anal without a condom with my sub. However, she informs me that anal without a condom is dangerous for the giver because of infections (for the giver) and the like.

We know about lube, we know about cleaning, we know not to double-dip, and we've done anal with the condom a few times.

Are her worries founded? WebMD (And ONLY WebMD from what I can Google) says this:
The anus is full of bacteria. Even if both partners do not have a sexually-transmitted infection or disease, bacteria normally in the anus can potentially infect the giving partner. Practicing vaginal sex after anal sex can also lead to vaginal and urinary tract infections.

Does anyone know the likelihood of anal infecting the giving partner?

It wipes off, hon.

Haha, I know that :P
Still though, it's not like the five-second rule that we've all used to justify eating food off the floor is really accurate, right? But similarly, there's a rather low probability that you'll catch something, and even then it's not *that* bad. I'm kinda looking for verification that this is the case- there's a rather low probability of infection for the giver, and if an infection does occur, it would be comparable to say, the flu.

hlen5 -> RE: Yet ANOTHER yet another anal question. (7/9/2012 8:47:02 PM)

When's the last time either of you were tested for STDs, HPV included?

Dunamis2009 -> RE: Yet ANOTHER yet another anal question. (7/9/2012 8:53:16 PM)

She's my first, and [she was tested] a couple of weeks ago. Clean, of course.

BKSir -> RE: Yet ANOTHER yet another anal question. (7/9/2012 8:53:27 PM)

Well, I can say this. After partaking in this "anal sex" thing, of which you speak for the last... Let's just say "many years", I've YET to EVER have any sort of infection at all. Neither have any partners I've been with. At least, absolutely none stemming from that.

Now, I usually shower or clean off in some way shortly after sex, because I hate going to bed all sweaty, and, well... hygiene is NOT that difficult of a concept to grasp, but still, a penile infection from anal sex is brand new news to me. Never even heard of such a critter. And we usually, every few months, host a Safer Sex Education Course taught by the Utah Aids Foundation. They cover everything one could think of, and I've not once heard of that.

I'm not saying webMD is "wrong", I'm just saying that... okay, I probably am. I mean, I guess it COULD happen, but one would have to have TERRIBLE personal hygiene habits I should think.

A UTI in a guy is not fun I've heard.
UTI pain can vary from uncomfortable to very painful and most men find the whole pissing blood thing (a common UTI symptom is blood in urine) alarming.

If the infection moves from bladder to kidneys then you will wish you had something comparable to the flu.

Having said that, the risk can be mitigated by washing up and peeing right afterwards.

Thanks! This is exactly the kind of response I'm looking for :-)

But how likely is it that one gets a UTI from anal? In fact, I seem to remember my physician stating that UTIs in males were -extremely- rare. *rushes off to look for statistics*
And, not that I believe these are possible/probable- does anyone have some sort of statistics pointing at how common getting a UTI from anal would be?

Duskypearls -> RE: Yet ANOTHER yet another anal question. (7/9/2012 9:17:16 PM)

From what I understand, there is no test for HPV, and a person can have it dormant and w/o symptoms for years to decades.

I have not been.

In that case, no glove, no love. You're worried about getting something from her but you don't give a shit if you infect her?

Well, I might be *completely* wrong here, but my parents are both clean and she was my first, so we were pretty sure I was clean- not to mention, we have done vaginal without the glove before; now we're worried about anal.

If you'll tell me that a virgin still has a concernable probability to have STIs, then that would be news- and probably enough for me to go be tested. But please don't think I don't care about my sub (I can't tell whether you are, but if I were to think someone didn't give a shit about infecting their subs, I would get pretty heated).

Pretty sure isn't sure. Have you had oral sex before with anyone? The point is until you get tested, you don't know.

After your last post I perved your profile. You are younger than I thought you were. You have already had unprotected sex. Please practice safer sex. Don't be cavalier with either your OR her health.

I had not had ANY sexual experiences before her.
Don't get me wrong. She's on the pill, we used condoms until very recently, etc etc.
We have discussed the possibility of my being tested before, and we both agreed on my not being tested. (In fact, I was more pushing FOR my getting tested at the time).
I'll bring the topic [my being tested] up with her again, but still- assuming that the only question is whether or not it is likely for me to have E. Coli travel up into my bladder and cause an infection, what are your thoughts on that?

EDIT: Non-solitary sexual experiences, of course. I definitely jacked off just as much as the next guy growing up.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Yet ANOTHER yet another anal question. (7/9/2012 10:59:20 PM)

You should be fine. Soap, water, that sort of thing.

Agreeing about the safer sex, though. It's a world of stuff.

hlen5 -> RE: Yet ANOTHER yet another anal question. (7/9/2012 11:01:25 PM)

Why in the world would anyone argue for NOT getting tested? Being on the pill is only protection from pregnancy, not STDs.

You should treat every sexual partner AS IF they are infected until you know FOR A FACT that they are not. So should the other partner.

I don't know what to tell you about the E. coli question.

Your edit cracked me up!![:D]

We know that the pill is only protection from pregnancy, and thanks to the edit comment [:)].
I probably will get tested at this point, even though it's more likely that one would get a false negative on an STD test than it would for me to have gotten one between birth and sex with my sub. But anyway, thanks for your responses, no matter how much it might seem I disagree :P

littlewonder -> RE: Yet ANOTHER yet another anal question. (7/10/2012 1:33:30 AM)

If you're both in a long term committed monogamous relationship, both been tested for STDS and you're both healthy, then go for it. We've done everything barebacked for years because Master and I are what I described above.

I guess some people could have problems if they get a lot of infections, get hemorrhoids often, and such things but otherwise I don't see the problem.
