The following title can be found by those with access to the NYTimes website: Spearheads and DNA Point to a Second Founding Society in North America Sorry, the copy write won't allow me to copy and paste the article in it's entirety here. The jist of the article is that another group of people (pre Clovis) have been found in the caves of Oregon. These people can be differentiated from Clovis by their own distinct projectile technology, called Western Stemmed. Advances in carbon dating techniques allowed them to date fiber and other debris linked to the site as possibly being pre-Clovis. Mitrochondrial DNA points to the two groups as having separate projectile technology for several hundred years. I am hoping they can extract nuclear DNA, and am looking forward to what new things can be learned about what (appears to be) the first North American cave dwellers. Great stuff !!
