Hillwilliam -> Zimmerman trial. What would you ask? (7/15/2012 2:53:19 PM)

Pretty simple. If you were the prosecution or defense at Zim's trial, who would you (force if necessary) to testify and what one question would you ask them under oath?

I'll start. I'd put the asst DA who called the police on the night in question and ask her.

Prior to calling the police and telling them not to charge anyone, did you recieve communications from Zim's dad?

Next question. Who would you put up and what would you ask?

Lets have fun and be civil.

Well this would be done in Deposition first (and the Defense has probably already done this), but I'd ask W11 who knew George from the HOA and identified George to Police as the one screaming.

"Being just a few feet away from the screaming as opposed to hearing a distorted recording of it on the phone, did you recognize the screams as coming from George Zimmerman?"

/case over

Nobody can force Zimmerman to the stand, but I'd like to know why the fuck he got out of the car.

Owner59 -> RE: Zimmerman trial. What would you ask? (7/15/2012 9:47:46 PM)

That and why did you disregard the dispatcher.

I doubt very much George will take the stand but he isn`t that smart so we`ll see.

Man to man I`d ask, given the same circumstances and what you know today......would you do things differently?

tj444 -> RE: Zimmerman trial. What would you ask? (7/15/2012 9:54:24 PM)

since this is entirely fantasy..

I would bring Trayvon Martin back from the dead and ask him what really happened..

Well we already know his answer would be that he didn't disregard the dispatcher. He was clear on that point over and over.

LadyPact -> RE: Zimmerman trial. What would you ask? (7/15/2012 10:58:37 PM)

I would ask to the man, himself.....

Had you known it would be all of this, even if you really did believe it meant personal injury, wouldn't you have rather made another choice? Would you have considered that it might be fore the greater good if you'd have taken whatever other possibility was out there, than the pseudo righteous to have had this field day with the events as they turned out? Would mankind have been better for it, rather than this bitter, hateful, sour thing that it has become?

For the eleven billionth time... Because HE WAS ALREADY OUT OF THE CAR when the Dispatcher advised him.

If he wants a SYG hearing, he's got to testify. The defense has already stated that they welcome the opportunity.

Why would the "Neighborhood Watch Captain" have to exit his place of safety -- where he was trained to remain -- to figure out which of the THREE STREETS HE PATROLS REGULARLY he was on?

Hillwilliam -> RE: Zimmerman trial. What would you ask? (7/16/2012 3:45:19 AM)

Fargs. Will ya get back on topic. The Zim rant thread is down the hall.

This one is a purely intellectual exercise which, as one person posted, is a fantasy.

Owner59 -> RE: Zimmerman trial. What would you ask? (7/16/2012 6:53:00 AM)

Jeezz Hill, look at what he(we) have to deal with.....[:D]

As to the answer to my good and relevant question.......we`ll find out at trial, why he disregarded the dispatcher.

mnottertail -> RE: Zimmerman trial. What would you ask? (7/16/2012 6:55:42 AM)

I would ask him what year Romney actually left Bain Capital.

Winterapple -> RE: Zimmerman trial. What would you ask? (7/16/2012 7:10:50 AM)

So much of it boils down to why he got out of the car in the first place. The dispatcher advising him after the fact seems fairly
irrelevant. What was he thinking when
he private citizen Zimmie burst out of
the safety of his car toting his gun?

Great post.....

Thoughtful and human.

While we`re at it......

Who really killed Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman?

Who exactly "tricked" the neo-cons into their reluctant invasion of Iraq?

And how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie-pop?

There's no proof or admission that he did. The encounter occured nearly exactly at the same spot that he agreed with the dispatcher.

farglebargle -> RE: Zimmerman trial. What would you ask? (7/16/2012 9:45:38 AM)

But he *DID* disregard his explicit training never to confront anyone. That's going to really impact his credibility, since as "Neighborhood Watch Captain", he surly knows the contents of the Neighborhood Watch manual entered into evidence.

I suspect there's even a signature of his somewhere acknowledging receipt of the instructions.

No proof of that either. O'Mara even challenged that at the last bond hearing.
