I dont know if its to promote "man-hating" as much as its trying to make the OP more aware of why women on here are erring to the wind of caution. Who knows what he says to them to get this kind of response. I have a very hard time believing that any woman on this site has ever written to him saying " I think youre an asshole - prove me wrong." I think there might be something else going on here.

I'm guessing he's corectly seeing it. Personally I see it A LOT on both sides here and it just leaves me saddened and I'm a woman who has been raped once and sexually assaulted another time but I STILL don't go around being cautious of men and automatically thinking that they may hurt me. It's just not true. Most people are really not that violent. Angry? Yeah...lots of that going on. But violent, not really.

I guess being from Alaska Ive seen way too much of it. When I lived there - I carried a weapon on me at all times. The assult on women up there is staggering. No - not all men are that way. Not all men are assholes. Most people, men and women, are "normal". (Well, that's why it's called "normal".) Still, something has to be said about the way some men approach or relate to women on websites and chats. And that's when normal people behave like assholes. To a point in which there are posts and instructions about how to approach women in places like this... Which instructions do you need, jerk? It's like being in a pub. No matter how scandalously-porno-sexual-outrageous are the things you have planned to do with that blonde over there, you start saying "hi" and then something nice. Nice like in nice, not like in "wanna suck cock". That said, yesssss there are a lot of female assholes out there. The thing is, in general, males don't take it so seriously, and don't waste time putting warnings about in their profiles, or opening threads. Manipulative bitches, attention whores, liars, cheats, ultraarrogant or ultra defensive or bad mannered women... You name it. And of course, really nice people. Get the nice people, forget the assholes or the normal-people-behaving-like-assholes. I was being facetious. Using quantifying parameters such as "all...." hardly ever stands up to even the most elementary scrutiny. Except for certain laws of science, physics for example, 100% chance of anything especially regarding human behavior doesn't cut ice. About the only "all" that applies to humans is that we will die. I've engaged in very positive, stimulating conversation and interaction with women on this site. As for being a jerk, that is fine as long as it isn't a dry reach around.

This thread was a train wreck from the outset, because it lumps one group together and makes one label for all of the members of said group. Not all anything, are anything, outside of scientific or social classification. In regards to some of the more recent commentary spun off from the main: I think fear is exactly what it is. If a woman has fear of men, she has to adjust her life to that fear because half the populace is men. If that adjustment is how she chooses to live, so be it, from an internal standpoint. I personally would not agree with that choice, and believe it entirely unhealthy; but choice is one of the freedoms the western world values, so like it or not, the entitlement is granted. To turn that fear outwards and infect others is another matter, because spreading fear creates problems instead of solving them. Fear is an ugly thing to live in the shadow of, and not preferable by any stretch; but each person has to make their own way. I don't have an issue stating that because I was raped a long time ago, and I don't judge all other men by that incident. I'd be a lot more self-deprecating if that were true. I choose not to live in fear, and I choose to judge individuals for who, not what, they are.

It promotes trusting your gut instincts, which I think is essential for anyone, but especially for people who like to be tied up and beaten and meet people from the internet who are essentially strangers for this purpose.
